QUICK REFERENCE GUIDE

RT-1523G

Long Range Radio - RT-1523G Long Range


Used by certain roles within 1st Air Assault, such as Zero Alpha, Squad Leaders and Air Crew, the RT-1523G gives users
extreme range. Here are some important facts to note;

 Frequency Range: 30-87Mhz


 Range: 20 km (30 for inbuilt)

General Keys

Keys Action
TS PTT * Direct Speak
CTRL + TAB Change the direct speech volume. Three different volumes are available;
Whispering, Normal or Yelling.
[Does not affect the signal volume in the radio transmission]
ALT + P Opens the long-range interface
CTRL + CAPS Lock Speak on default radio
CTRL + T Speak on secondary channel
NUM Pad 1-8 Switch between Long Wave radio channels
ESC Exit radio interface
*TeamSpeak Push To Talk – The button used to speak in TeamSpeak

RT-1523G Usage

1. First, channels must be programmed with the assigned frequencies

2. Press ALT + P to open the long-range interface

3. By default, CH 1 will be on the radio

4. To enter the frequency, highlight the existing frequency, using the keyboard, type in the desired frequency and
press the ENT button on the radio

5. Before programming the next frequency, consider routing signal to a particular ear. This makes it easier to
distinguish which frequency is being heard. To do this, cycle through the following options by clicking on ‘STO’
(bottom row, second button from the right)
a. Left
b. Right
c. Both ears

6. To set up the next frequency, choose CH 2. The onscreen NUM Pad must be used with the RT-1523G.

7. Set the frequency as detailed in (4) and (5)

8. Before switching back to CH1, a secondary channel can be set up, allowing for the ability to speak on either pre-
programmed channel without opening the radio.

Keeping the radio on CH2, complete the following;


a. Click the ‘ERFT OST’ key. Second row, furthest right button
b. This should change the channel prefix from ‘CH ‘ to ‘CA’
c. VERY IMPORTANT! Return the radio to CH 1

9. Now, the following can be completed;


a. To speak on the primary cannel press CTRL + CAPS Lock
b. To speak on the secondary channel press ‘CTRL + T’

Task Force Arrowhead Radio


Task Force Arrowhead Radio (TFAR) is a mod that not only allows for realistic signal range and radio usage but also
brings directional chat limited by distance into the game. Ground forces in 1st Air Assault use two types of radio,
AN/PRC-152 and the RT-1523G, both of which feature the following;

 They are considered unique objects within the Arma 3 world. This feature allows one player to program a radio
and trade it with another player.
 Radios can be taken from dead enemy bodies and reveal frequencies. During operations radios should be
stripped from dead bodies before being left behind.
