VOLLEYBALL
1895
William Morgan, a YMCA physical
instructor, nvented the game
Mintonette. Later on, Alfred Halstead
suggested the term "Volleyball"

1897
The first official volleyball rules
were published by the Athletic
League of the YMCA of North
America.
1905
Volleyball was played in Cuba
1908
Volleyball was played in Japan

1910
Volleyball was played in Philippines

1912
The rules were altered as the
players grew younger and more
energetic. 1913
The international volleyball
competition has begun. Manila
hosted the first Far East Games.
1916
The National Collegiate Athletic
Association joined with YMCA
1920
Volleyball was a college sport, not a
professional sport.

1922
The first nation wide Tournament

United States Volleyball
Association (USVBA) was formed
1922 Annual volleyball for Men's
