Reflection:
Write a short reflection about the indigenous games of Cordillera.
Indigenous games are recreational activities that originated from a particular
culture group, community or people. Ones needs to participator regularly in indigenous
games to stay in touch wit one’s own culture and heritage. Indigenous games are
always fun wit friendly Competition mixed in.
All interestingly, all the continents have many indigenous games played by their
indigenous population groups. In all of the indigenous games, the games that I already
played are Guyyudan (tug-of-war) and kadang-kadang (hand held stilts). The games
that caught my attention is the Binnayo (Rice pounding) because I didn’t experience to
do that and I feel like excitement and I like to do it with other people’s in my community.
The indigenous games that I know are skipping ropes and line tag. Indigenous games
are important part of a people heritage and culture. They preserve age-old traditions
and stories of the people group. Indigenous games have an origin, which is the story
behind the invention of the particular activity and games.
Indigenous games are seen as the chest platform for promoting peace, harmony,
goodwill, and camaraderie in various communities. It is also a part of the measures to
recognize and protect the exercise of the indigenous people’s rights, one of which is the
preservation of their cultural heritage.
