5. The meaning of the following terms:-
(i) Primitive Communalism:-
Was the first pre-colonial mode of production in which all major means of
production were shared and owned by all members of the community. In this mode
people lived communal way of life by hunting and gathering, there was no classes,
full democracy. (03 marks)
(ii) Historian:-
Is the person who writes or studies history. For example most of history teachers.

(iii) Historical sites:-
These are special places where remains that helps to trace the physical
development of man, his behavior and level of technology can be found. Examples
of historical sites are Nsongezi, Magosi,Isimila, Bagamoyo, Olorgesaille, Rusinga

(iv) Artifacts:-
Are remains of the material culture made by the people of the past. They includes
objects like tools, weapons, clothes, beads, artwork. (03 marks)

Are the specialists in a museum who help in explaining objects to the people. They
date and arrange the remains and artifacts which demonstrate in the easiest way.
