PROPOSED ORDINANCE, S-2022

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE PENALTIES FOR VANDALISM AND/OR DEFACEMENT OF

WALLS, FENCES AND/OTHER SURFACE, AS PRESCRIBED UNDER CITY ORDINANCE
NUMBER 3433, S-57.

WHEREAS, Ordinance Number 3433, S-57 is a 1957 ordinance and thus needs an
update to keep up with the changing times;

WHEREAS, there is a need to include community service as penalty for vandalism,
in order to make the offender answerable for the cleanliness of the surroundings within the
barangay where the violation was committed.

NOW, THEREFORE,

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF QUEZON CITY
IN REGULAR SESSION ASSEMBLED:

SECTION 1. Section 2 of City Ordinance No. 3343, S-57 is hereby amended to read as
follows:

Section 2. For violations of this Ordinance, the offender shall be liable:

For the 1st offense - Php 1,000.00
For the 2 offense -
nd Php 2,000.00
For the 3rd offense - Php 3,000.00

In addition, the offender shall also be liable for the expenses incurred
for the restoration of the defaced and/or vandalized wall, fence and/or other
surface.

SECTION 2. This Ordinance shall take effect immediately after complying with the
requisite publication.
