I. Name the basal media (နာမည်ေတာ့ကျက်ပါ)
a. Nutrient broth – for common bacteria
b. Nutrient agar – plate (for pure culture), slope (for storage of bacteria)
c. Semisolid agar – for separating motile from non motile bacteria
d. Firm agar - inhibtion of swarming of bacteria. Eg: Proteus
e. Peptone water – for indole test (Enterobacteria , Pseudoonas )

II. Name enriched media (fastidious organisms, culture media enriched with serum, blood and
egg)
a. Loeffler’s serum slope – Diptheria bacilli, Clostridium species
b. Blood agar – nutrient agar + 5-50% blood
(indicator medium for haemolysis – alpha, beta, gamma)
