For instance, a lot of compliance managers still manually send out emails and calendar
reminders to remind staff to turn in the documentation required for audits. They then manually
store these documents until the planned audit in SharePoint or G-Drive.
Compliance managers must download files from their internal systems and upload them to yet
another portal once the formal audit process begins. Additionally, the fact that many

(many of which have overlapping requirements) contributes to the perception among business
and IT teams that they spend more time supporting audits than regular business operations.

Address Challenges Along the Way - This step is important because, without it, you can’t
perform a gap analysis to see where controls don’t measure up; and without that, you can’t
develop a plan for remediation.
Let's have a discussion with our Expert on the Topic CA. Vandana Dodhia, popularly known as Tally
Evangelist who have been working with Technology since last 25 years her core work area includes
creating awareness in client team the fundamentals of office automation journey and its benefits
from an accounting standpoint. As we all are aware Tally is a frequently used accounting tool.
Q. What are your thoughts on Automation tools in Accounting?
Business owners can utilise accounting automation as a powerful tool to address issues with
manual accounting. The concept of computerised accounting is not new, but big data analytics,
robotic process automation, and artificial intelligence (AI) have considerably improved the
capabilities of these systems. Artificial intelligence is used in accounting software to track data
and record transactions.
AI automates data entry and other tedious chores, freeing analysts to focus on more important
responsibilities. Modern technology completes tasks accurately and with little manual labour.
Hence, CA and Accountants can concentrate more on preparing investments and budgets.
Financial experts can execute their responsibilities more precisely and efficiently with the aid of
accounting automation software. Automation is a strategy that businesses are using more and
more to optimise resource use and lower operating expenses. Several operations in your ERP
software can be automated by our robotic process automation (RPA) specialists.

records, and other account management documentation. It's possible
To make other software integrations easier for import in TallyPrime, developers generally
consider the following options:
1. Direct Integration: One of the most effective ways to import data from other software
applications is to create a direct integration between TallyPrime and the other application.
2. Third-Party Tools: Another option for businesses is to use third-party tools. These tools can be
integrated with TallyPrime and configured to automatically convert any reports into the
required format. This can save businesses time and reduce the risk of errors that can occur
when manually converting data.
3. Custom TDL Solutions: TallyPrime offers a customizable platform through TDL (Tally Definition
Language), which allows developers to create custom solutions that can extend the
functionality of TallyPrime to any level

Let's engage in a Question and Answer session with our knowledgeable professional CA Ashok
Madrecha from Jamku, software that offers an Automatic Compliance Tracking solution, to better
understand the fundamentals of Office Automation adoption and benefits.
It was both a pleasure and an honour for us to conduct this conversation with him.
CA Ashok Madrecha is the mentor and chief ideator of Jamku, a practice management software
for Chartered Accountants. Jamku was launched in 2013 and it is currently India’s largest practice
management solution with over 1800 offices choosing it to manage their practice in India and 17+
countries worldwide. Recently, they have launched India’s first “Automated Compliance Tracking”
solution, named “Jamku Portal”. The software company, Madrecha Solutions, demonstrated an
outstanding track record, setting up business from scratch to taking it to number 1 position in India
while still offering competitive prices. In this interview, let’s hear from him about his journey of
establishing a Software company despite the odds of coming from a Commerce background and
way forward.
Q. What does Jamku helps CA Firms?
Heart of the software is Decision Support System (DSS). It helps in Client & Task management by
tracking all the work assigned to team members. It has features like Geo Location based
attendance, time sheet, segmented billing which helps in tracking team member’s holistic
performance. You can provide access to client to view their tasks and files; thus they can access
their data anytime anywhere. Other useful features include Digital Signature (DSC) location &
expiry tracking, inward outward register, out of pocket expense. It has inbuilt chatting and
notification system for real-time collaboration between team members.
Q. How crucial is practice management for this age?
It is a must, if you wish to scale up your practice. There is a need to transform practice from being
people oriented to system oriented, this can only be achieved by using a full fledge practice
management solution like Jamku.
Q. Can you tell me more about your recent launch of “Jamku Portal”, what problem it solves?
Currently, notices are received by clients and then shared with CA. This means there are many
scenarios where reply to notices can be missed because we simply don’t know about it. Our new
offering fetches data from tax department’s website for all clients in one click and then shows all
the insights in a single dashboard. This is helpful for corporate houses which has many entities to
track for notices. Similarly it is used by CA firms to proactively track all the notices which are
received by their clients.
What is your burn rate? In today’s world, startups are evaluated based on their Cash
Burn Rate (CBR), what is your take on this?
From day one, we aspired to be cash positive month on month. This meant sacrificing a
high growth rate for stability. We built our team slowly to remain profitable. This also
helped in providing the best customer experience by staying in touch with all users of
the software.
Q. Considering the finite market that you operate in; how do you expect it to grow
manifold?
Now that we have a commendable customer base, we are looking for inorganic growth.
Our focus lies on tech enabled solutions that can be helpful to Chartered Accountants
and large corporates.
