Motivation/Opening 1. Greetings

3. Checking of Attendance
4. Presentation of the Lesson’s objectives
5. Eliciting Prior Knowledge:
 Ask the students:
o What bamboo ensemble are you
familiar with?
o What makes the group unique in terms
of sound characteristics and timbre?
 Discuss with the students the value of locally
made instruments as an enhancement tool for
performance by analyzing the significance of
instrumental ensemble/accompaniment
Discussion/Practice 1. Discuss the other bamboo instruments in
Mindanao through:
 Demonstration/Instrumental playing
 Video on instrument performance
 Explanation of the physical
characteristics of the instruments
2. Provide the students a hands-on activity on
the different instruments in Mindanao. The
Going Beyond on page 89 of the textbook
may be discussed in connection to bamboo
musical instruments.
3. Ask the students this question:
 How do the physical body/size and the
texture of the body of the bamboo
affect the sound of the instrument?
Justify your answer.
4. Provide a sound and picture analysis of the
different musical instruments through the use
