My name is Prakash.

I live in Bangalore, know as IT hub and capital city of Karnataka state of

India. I am a teaching practitioner at Christ, a degree college, affiliated to Bangalore
University. My college is well-equipped with all kinds of modern classroom facilities that
include computer labs, language labs, digitalized classrooms, etc. Being a faculty at the
Department of English in my college, I am expected to educate other faculty across all the
departments on their use of English in teaching their subject related content besides English
language and literature. Hence, I will be revising my teaching strategies in EMI for the
betterment of my colleagues in other departments.

I am most excited about updating myself first on EMI teaching so that my contribution to
the faculty enhancement for their use of classroom English would effective and efficient as
well. In addition, I am also planning to introduce EMI courses to student fraternity in order
to multiply the learning. I personally believe that learning teacher and student together
increases the quality of learning of such EMI courses. This kind of mutual learning avoids
hiccups and creates positive echo-system in teaching-learning between teacher and learner.
Moreover, in this process teacher may develop his ability to analyze his progress in EMI
learning.

By the end of this course, I want to:

 learn design courses in EMI as per the requirements of both teachers and students
and strategies to teach the courses.
 be able to make my lessons more interesting and interactive by learning techniques
to make activities and assessment more authentic for learners in the course.
 study the course to research and come out with guidelines for teachers like me to
adapt such courses that suit their local necessities and demands.
