Any optical ber connectors and adapters that mest the transmission performance criteria of SDOs may be considered standards compliant. ‘One such standards-compliant optical fiber connector and adapter interface is known as an array connector. Array connectors feature a single ferrule connector that contains mul ‘optical fibers arranged in a row or in rows and colurans. Figure 6.40 and Figure 6.41 «demonstrate array optical fiber connectors with alignment pins. The individual optical fibers between the alignment pins are not visible in these figures. The array optical fiber adapter provides a means for coupling two array optical fiber connectors.
