The ModBus-RTU protocol is a widely used industrial communications protocol, which follow
master-slave structure. By using this protocol, Huawei smart transformer station can communicate
with other devices in a network via Huawei smart array controller, such as through the RS485 bus.
Huawei smart transformer station support real time monitoring of transformer, RMU and LV panel
status, high precision sensor of LV electricity parameters and remote control of RMU VCB and LV
panel ACB.
For Huawei smart transformer station, all the smart signal which are listed below aggregates in the
control and measurement unit in the LV panel of smart transformer station, and then transmitted
to the Huawei smartlogger in the SmartACU via RS485 cable, and then to the management system.
This document describes detailed information about the ModBus protocol used in Huawei smart
transformer station. Detailed ModBus signal may vary according to different projects especially if
there is specification customization in the project.
