• National Commission for Protection of Child Rights will be celebrating Pariksha


Parv- 4.0 from 11th April 2022 to 31st May 2022.

• NCPCR has been celebrating exams with its campaign ‘Pariksha Parv’ since
2019, intending to change the outlook of children towards exam stress and
overcome their anxiety before exam results at a platform.

• Pariksha Parv 4.0 is an endeavor for providing a platform for students, parents
and teachers to share their thoughts and get guidance and important tips from
the experts.

• This year, a multi-pronged approach shall be followed with the objective of
reaching out to teachers and parents in addition to children.

Pariksha Parv 4.0 will include the following activities:

• Live streaming sessions from 11th April 2022 to 31st May 2022 on Facebook,
Twitter, YouTube of NCPCR, and YouTube of Doordarshan National and New
India Junction to enable students to interact with experts to reduce their exam
stress and worries before exam results.

• SAMVEDNA- (1800-121-2830) is a toll-free Tele counseling service of NCPCR


by trained Counsellors for COVID related stress which will now be extended for
students to cope up with exam and result related queries, stress and anxiety.

About NCPCR
• It was set up in March 2007 under the Commission for Protection of Child Rights
Act, 2005. It is a statutory body under the Act.

• It functions under the administrative control of the Ministry of Women & Child
Development, Government of India.

• To ensure that all Laws, Policies, Programs, and Administrative Mechanisms are
in consonance with the Child Rights perspective as enshrined in the Constitution
of India and also the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, 1989.

• All members are to be appointed by Central Government for three years. The
maximum age to serve in commission is 65 years for Chairman and 60 years for
members.

• A two-day national workshop was organised at Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh by the


Development Support Agency of Gujarat Tribal Development Department of Gujrat and
Ministry of Tribal Affairs

• Ministry of Tribal Affairs has sanctioned ten Tribal Freedom Fighter museums to be
located in Gujarat, Jharkhand, Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh,
Telangana, Manipur, Mizoram and Goa.

• On 15th November 2021 on Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas, Bhagwan Birsa Munda Tribal
Freedom Fighter Museum in Jharkhand.

• The museum being set up at Gurudeshwar in Narmada District would be the National
Museum where in 16 major Gallaries will be dedicated to tribal freedom movements
across India.

• The government of India (GoI) has approved the renaming of 3 places in


Madhya Pradesh, Hoshangabad Nagar as “Narmadapuram”, Shivpuri as
“Kundeshwar Dham” and Babai as “Makhan Nagar”.

• Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Shivraj Singh Chouhan will launch the
Udyam Kranti Yojana. According to officials, the MP Mukhyamantri Udyam Kranti
plan was announced for the first time in November 2021, as per the MSME
department’s gazette announcement, but it was never executed.

• The Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia and Madhya Pradesh Chief
Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan jointly inaugurated the first drone school in
Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh.

• Ujjain in Madhya Pradesh has created a Guinness record by lighting 11.71 lakh
clay lamps (diyas) in 10 minutes. The diyas were lighted as part of the ‘Shiv Jyoti
Arpanam Mahotsava’ on the occasion of Mahashivratri. With this they broke the
earlier record of lighting 9.41 lakh diyas created in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh on 03
November 2021.

Supreme Court fixes timelines for filing of claims for payment of
ex-gratia assistance to families of COVID-19 deceased
• The Supreme Court has fixed the following timelines for beneficiaries to file claims for payment of
ex-gratia assistance to families of COVID-19 deceased as announced by National Disaster
Management Authority.

The key directions issued by the Court are:


• An outer time limit of sixty days shall be applicable from March 24, 2022 to file the claims for
compensation in case the death occurred due to COVID-19 prior to March 20, 2022.

• For any future deaths, ninety days’ time shall be provided from the date of death due to COVID-
19 to file the claim for compensation.

• The earlier order to process the claims and to make the actual payment of compensation within a
period of thirty days from the date of receipt of claim shall continue to be enforced.

• The Court however directed that in case of extreme hardship where any claimant could not make
an application within the time prescribed, it will be open for the claimant to approach the
Grievance Redressal Committee and make the claim through Grievance Redressal Committee
which shall be considered by the Grievance Redressal Committee on case to case basis and if it
is found by the Grievance Redressal Committee that a particular claimant could not make the
claim within the stipulated time which was beyond their control his/her case may be considered
on merits.

• If it is found that anybody has made a fake claim, the same shall be considered under Section 52
of the DM Act, 2005 and liable to be punished accordingly.

five-day fair at Madhavpur Ghed village in Gujarat’s Porbandar district.

• This fair is held to celebrate the wedding of Lord Krishna and Goddess Rukmani at
Madhavpur Ghed, a famous pilgrimage spot.

• The famous Madhavray temple was originally built in the village in the 13th century.

• Every year, the five-day fair begins on Ram Navami, which falls on April 10 this year.
The annual event attracts lakhs of people.

• The state government has allocated Rs 30 crore for the development of the Madhavray
temple.

• The World Bank and the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) stated that
the Gujarat government’s Mission School of Excellence project, which aims to
improve education quality in the state, will receive a loan worth Rs 7,500 crore.

• Chief Minister of Gujarat, Bhupendra Patel has announced a new IT/ITeS policy
for the next five years. This policy will provide financial incentives up to Rs 200
crore to the entities willing to incur capital expenditures.

• New Development Bank (NDB) will become the first multilateral agency to open
an office in the Gujarat International Finance Tech City (Gift). New Development
Bank (NDB) has received the approval for the same and will open the office in
May 2022 in GIFT City.

Third Positive Indigenisation List
• As a major move towards Atmanirbhar Bharat (self-reliant India) in defence manufacturing, the
Union Minister of Defence, Rajnath Singh, has released the third positive indigenisation list of
101 items, comprising major equipment and platforms, in New Delhi to develop India as a
defence manufacturing hub.

• The list is notified by the Department of Military Affairs, Ministry of Defence and emphasizes
equipment and systems that are being developed and likely to be translated into firm orders, with
more than Rs. 2,10,000 crores in orders expected to be placed on Indian industry in the next five
years.

• These weapons and platforms are planned to be indigenised progressively with effect from
December 2022 to December 2027.

• Third “Positive Indigenisation List” is based on the first list of 101 items and the second list of 108
items that were promulgated on August 21, 2020, and May 31, 2021, respectively.

• It should be mentioned that a contract worth Rs. 54,000 crores have been

• The Maharashtra State Power Generation Company and National Thermal


Power Corporation will form a Joint Venture to set up an “ultra-mega solar park”
in the state to generate 2,500 MegaWatt green power.

• The Project was approved by the Maharashtra State Cabinet in 2020 with a
proposed project cost of Rs 1,727 crore.

• NTPC and MAHAGENCO joint venture will have to invest a capital share of
50:50 for developing the ultra-mega solar power park, and the Maharashtra
State Energy Department will be the state nodal agency.

• The ultra-mega solar parks of different capacities shall come up in stages at


identified locations in Latur, Washim, Yavatmal, Chandrapur, Nashik, Jalgaon,
Pune, Beed, Ahmednagar, Solapur, Akola, Dhule, and Hingoli.

• The Gangaur festival is annually celebrated from the 1st day of the month of
Chaitra, as per the Hindu calendar, (the day following Holi) which usually falls in
March or April and continues for 18 days.

• The festival is consummated on the 3rd day of Shukla Paksha of the same
month.

• The term “Gangaur” is comprised of “Gan” and “Gaur”, where Gan refers to Lord
Shiva and Gaur refers to Gauri.

• During the festival, the wheat plays a major role in the rituals as it signifies
harvest.

• Rajasthan, the state government has announced a ‘Camel Protection and


Development Policy’ in its budget 2022-23. According to the government figures,
less than two lakh camels are left in Rajasthan and in the entire country, the
number of camels has reduced by 1.5 lakh since 2012.

discovered a faint new star-forming galaxy.

• The galaxy has a ‘ghost-like’ appearance in the optical images because of its low disk
density, but the inner disk shows star formation.

short.

been successfully flight-tested by the Defence Research and Development Organisation and
Indian Army at Pokhran firing ranges.

• A total of 24 EPRS rockets were fired for different ranges.

• The Pinaka rocket system has been developed by Armament Research and Development
Establishment, Pune, supported by High Energy Materials Research Laboratory, another Pune-
based laboratory of DRDO.

• The EPRS is the upgraded version of the Pinaka variant which has been in service with the
Indian Army for the last decade.

• After establishing the performance efficacy of the enhanced range version of Pinaka, the
technology was transferred to the industries viz. Munitions India Limited and Economic
Explosives Limited Nagpur.

• He is the first physician to recognize Parkinson’s as a medical condition.

• He published an essay in 1817 called, “An Essay on the Shaking Palsy.”

• During the 9th World Parkinson’s Disease Day Conference in 2005, the red tulip

banking units to provide products and services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, in
