Dear Agha sahib,
He 1is right,and was then the Adjutant of 1st
Punjab,part of 111 bde,and in those days on
duty at Zia's House,it would,be, pointless
going in the minor details as to who was
assigned what, i was the Adjutant of 3rd
Baluch,Stationed or located under
tentage,where now is the Army Grave Yard
(valley road area),as we had been on internal
security duty throughout,hence we had moved
with ammo,from Kharain cantt.

Yes the overall intention or plan was on
almost a bloodless affair.
The state then wanted to give the impression
of a massacre on the lines of later
Anwar Sadaat affair,in Egypt.much has been
written by writers as a reference,Even the
version of Brig,tirmizi's book is wrong,and he
claims to,be, the director of ISI,detailed on the
case by the general Akhtar Abdur Rehman
then DG ISI,please keep in mind when earlier
my father,around 27th june 1977. or so,had
moved a, R &S Baluch unit from Kohat,and it
had reached Turnol junction,he had then too
called off the operation as the coordination
with two more units,had changed,
All these things are recorded in the FGCM
proceedings,with JAG,now in GHQ,

If my father was for a bloody coup,i think

those days would have been ideal,keeping in
view the political conditions and backing of
the parties.i.e nizam e mustapha movement in
which my father was very deeply involved but
like i said all these things are on record,there
is nothing new that i am adding here.
I think a book on this subject can be written,,
?
Should i ask for a copy of court proceedings
from JAG ??
Another factor which most are unaware, is,
only my father and i
had been charged in 1980 coup with a single
charge sheet with 9 different charges
all the others came as prosecution witness
against us,Amazing no ?

Hence,only father and son,got 14 years R.I

and 10 years R.I.
Though in the first order of the FGCM, my
father was given 10 years,and i 5 years,

When the proceedings went up,they ordered

a retrial,which enhanced my fathers to a life
sentence of 14 years with R.I and mine to 10
years RI.
Basically the sarkar wanted to immobilize my
father and myself as , i,used to be
his coordinator,for the meetings,which were
held on one to one,bases.
even i was not privy to the actual
instructions,which he would pass.

Dear All,

Being involved in the whole episode

of coup mentioned below I would like
to dispel certain misconceptions.

The coup was not aimed to be bloody

as is the perception, it aimed at a
peaceful transition from military rule
to civilian rule.

3 Baluch or any other battalion of

Pak Army was not directly involved
in any plan, all meetings were
conducted with, and known to, only
a very select like minded officers,
most meetings were on individual
basis and not in groups to maintain
secercy and safety of officers
involved.

23rd March 1980 was not the D day

as perceived.

I have been to various army

functions since leaving the army and
have had interaction with the current
lot of officers. I don't think that this
lot has the balls to carry out a coup.
It needs real men having courage
and conviction like Gen. Tajammul to
carry out such deeds and not the
current phony lot.
