o Internal reasons: to feel more confident, to learn the subject matter better, to enable lesson to run smoothly, and to anticipate problems before they happen. o External reasons: to satisfy the expectations of the principal or supervisor and to guide substitute teachers in case in the class need one. - The benefits of daily lesson planning: o Help teachers think about content, materials, sequencing, timing, and activities. o Provides security in the form of a map in the sometimes unpredictable atmosphere of a classroom. o A log of what have been taught o Help substitutes to smoothly take over a class when the teachers can’t teach.
