Bolawan Alaan Macaraya, 49 years old Pantawid Pamilya beneficiary from barangay
Pantar East, Pantar, Lanao del Norte bearing the
household ID No. 103523018-9998-38719. Bolawan is
married to Gandaw Saumay Macaraya, 57 years old. They
were living at Pantar East, Pantar for more than 15 years
with their 7 children named Ibrahim, 32 years old; Omab
Saif, 26 years old; Joseph, 23 years old; Norsaifa, 24
years old, Norarsifa, 20 years, Insira, 17 years Old, Asmar 15 Year Old, Asmaira, 13
years old. Most of her children already finished Highschool.

Insirah, Asmar and Nor Asrifa were the children who are monitored under his 4p’s
grants. Two of her children Ibrahim and Omab Saif were finished college. Norasrifa is a
graduate of High school and is preparing for college journey. The remaining two are
the active monitor children of Mrs. Bolawan.

Bolawan and his husband Gandaw works as a farmer in their land near besides their
house in Pantar East. Accordingly, they only earn Ten thousand every after 4 months
of harvest very sufficient enough to sustain the
needs of her family. Aside from farming, Mr. Gandaw
is selling various product of fruits such as Coconut,
Mango and Avocado which he earns to sustain their
basic necessities.

Aside from this, they also have a small sari-sari


store, installed
outside of their
house. For 8 years
of selling such
products they were able to build their two storey
house, Mrs. Bolawan confessed that for almost 8
years of being an active beneficiary of Pantawid, she
was able to find ways to uplift their condition, before
Pantawid, they are struggling due financial support,
they have 7 children who are all enrolled to school
who are all paying. Luckily, Mrs. Bolawan is fortunate
to become a 4p’s beneficiary as this help her to pursue all her dreams for children. She
was able to finished all her two children for college and now is an overseas worker and
the other one is an alem teacher in Madrasah in Marawi City. Both were earning to
suffice the needs of their own family.

Currently, 3 of her children is enrolled, Ms.


Norasrifa is preparing to pursue her Bachelor
degree in MSU-Main, and Insirah just graduated
from grade 10. Both are trying their best to become
a successful person. And this made Mrs. so proud,
because, she can see how her struggles and
sacrifices paid off. She is forever thankful for all the
blessing she is receiving, and being a 4p’s
beneficiary is one of the big blessings of Mrs.
Bolawan
She hopes that her journey in the Pantawid will last up until her remaining children
graduated in high school, before she graduate. She added that not only she is after for
the money or grants she is receiving, but also for the life learning lesson she is
acquiring in the program like the Family Developmental Session, Mrs. Bolawan, is one
of the parent leaders in PantarEast where she was able to show case her leadership
style to her co-beneficiaries. She is knowledgeable enough about the main objective
and aim the Program and that is to break the poverty cycle, and that the Pantawid
Pamilyang Pilipino Program is a human capital investment. By this she strongly commit
to the set conditions of the program to achieve such kind of result and that is to uplift
them and go out from being poo
