Plan of Investigation

Title: The topic I choose for my English SBA is “River Pollution.”

Reasons for selecting topic:

1. I chose this topic because people are polluting the waters courses very badly in my

country, Trinidad and Tobago.

2. When people pollute the water it causes lots of floods and people may lose their lives.

Tasks to be done: In order to complete this SBA, I need to do the following:

1. Firstly, I will research and choose three outstanding pieces or materials.

2. Next, I will meet with my group to discuss the materials and share information.

3. Thirdly, I will complete reflections 1, 2 and 3.

4. Next, I will plan and do my oral presentation.

5. Additionally, I intend to meet with my teacher for an interview.

6. Next, I intend to complete a written report with my group.

7. Finally, I will meet with my group members and my teacher for all the SBA activities.
Nature of the material/Sources of the material:

In order to effectively complete these tasks, I will visit the school and public libraries for

articles about water pollution in Trinidad and Tobago. I will search the internet for poems,

songs and newspaper or magazine articles that focus on the issue of water pollution. During

the course of my research, I expect to find lots of information. Above all, I intend to choose

the best pieces for this SBA.

Some English Language skills that may be used in analyzing the material:

Moreover, I expect to develop my ability to extract the most important information and to

improve my writing and research skills. In addition, I anticipate the increase of my

understanding of identifying main ideas and supporting details.

Some conclusions that may be obtained: I am optimistic that I will improve my research

skills and become an improved student by the closing stages of this assignment.
List Three factors that can interfere with the soundness of the conclusions of your SBA
research:
Furthermore, there are three factors that may restrict with the quality and findings of my

SBA research are:

1. I may not be able to find appropriate information,

2. I may not be able to find diverse viewpoints on the topic.

3. Some group participants may not assist with insightful discussion and interrogation

Describe one way you plan to minimize the effects of one of the factors listed above:

Most importantly, I plan on completing my SBA to the best of my ability.
