Cognitive Behavior Therapy Reflection

Cognitive behavior therapy lessons have been a wonderful experience since various

cognitive behavior therapy approaches such as REBT, CT, and CBT. The human being is

associated with disturbing and destructive thoughts that influence their emotions and behavior.

Therefore, self-talk and setting smart goals, tracking ideas when experiencing a problematic

situation, and recognizing cognitive alterations are among the various mental restructuring

practices. Thus, human nature shares the potential for rational or irrational thinking based on

their positions. For instance, in the instances that resulted in depression, individuals blame

themselves and avoid actualization advancement due to their current situation, making them less

motivated in being who they are. The assumptions and beliefs triggered by a given problem put

the depression of an individual in motion. Thus, the REBT approach can be essential in helping

individuals accept themselves from emotional disturbance, as Albert Ellis represents it.

Furthermore, CT and CBT contribute to CBT as they share various attributes with REBT.

For successful therapy, one has to be in a good relationship with the therapist they engage since

it allows them to be free and talk with them without fear. Thus, the relationship between a client

and therapist has to exist. Such a relationship will allow the client to understand their feelings,

events, thoughts, and behavior from an interference event, as the A-B-C framework model

provides REBT understanding.

Conclusion: How to be Successful in Therapy

Throughout therapist, understanding of the cognitive behavior therapy is essential both as

a client and therapist. It provides CBT a ground for understanding oneself and being not-self.
