This document provides a reflection on anger management from a class viewing of the movie Anger Management. It discusses three main types of anger: passive aggression, open aggression, and assertive anger. The movie portrays two types of anger expression - explosive anger that is quickly released, and passive-aggressive anger that grows internally. While it is okay to address true feelings, anger needs to be expressed carefully without hurting others or oneself. Anger held inside can ultimately do more harm.

Anger is a feeling that usually arise when we feel hurt. It can
sometimes cause us to have an emotion of revenge or be passive sometimes. Our professor in advance Psychology let us view the movie anger management. It is a 2003 American buddy comedy film directed by Peter Segal and written by David S. Dorfman. The plot was about a mild-mannered man gets caught up in an incident aboard a plane and ends up being sent to anger management classes to avoid being sent to jail. The teacher of the class is confrontational, completely unorthodox and ends up moving in with the man to help him fight his inner demons. On the first part of the movie I actually felt confused of what really happen and then gradually I’ve understand the situation. I was laughing when I realize that I am also somehow like him. I have this type of manner that I don’t admit that I am angry, because I don’t like confrontation. I don’t like to explain my feelings to other since I want them to be sensitive enough to know their fault. Besides I am also denial in some cases. Now, my memories during college days reminds me that there are different types of angriness. Passive Aggression, Open Aggression, and Assertive Anger. These three are the most general type. Passive aggression is a type of indirect aggression. It allows a person to express anger and related emotions without directly communicating these feelings. Open aggression is a sharp contrast to passive-aggressive anger, as it's usually expressed outwardly mostly in a physically or verbally aggressive way. It means thinking before you speak, being confident in how you say it, yet open and flexible to the 'other side'. It means being patient; not raising your voice; communicating how you are feeling emotionally, and really trying to understand what others are feeling. On the movie anger management, the type of anger being shown are explosive and implosive”. There are two main types of anger expression. There are the explosive individuals that release anger quickly and intensely. Then there are more passive aggressive individuals that will allow their anger to grow within themselves. To understand easier lets focus on these two type. On the scene in the movie there are moments that the protagonist should be very mad and yet he doesn’t seem to show it but deeply he is mad. This type of anger will lead to explosion of feelings once you reach the limit it is hard to hold. The movie thought me that addressing your true feeling is ok, yet you need to be careful not to hurt anybody including yourself. Because at some points angriness might also cause you to be poised. A quote from an American writer Mark Twain “ Anger is an acid that can do more harm to the vessel in which it is stored than to anything on which it is poured.”
