A. Methane

 Chemical Formula: CH4


 Characteristics:
Odorless
Lighter than air
Colorless
Least or slightly soluble in water
Life span in the surroundings or atmosphere is much shorter.
 Uses:
o Methane is used as a fuel for vehicles, ovens, and heaters.
o Use to produce electricity
o Use as an ingredient for fertilizer
o Methane can also be used as an antifreeze ingredient.
o Can be used as a sanitizing product.
B. Salt

 Chemical Formula: NaCl


 Characteristics
Colorless, white, or transparent
Does not contain a smell but has a taste.
Soluble in water
The shape is like a small bit of crystals
Hard in texture
 Uses:
o Salt is known and used as a food seasoning.
o Salt is used for maintaining the balance of fluids in a person’s body.
o Use to make products like plastic, paper,rubber, glass, chlorine, and
household bleach.
o It is use for removing ice
o Can be use for cleaning.

2. From your research,how do you think this substances can be classified?


While researching, I somehow thought that this substances can be classified as an
industrial resource. For all of this could help humans on creating and experimenting which
is helping us to improve civilization.
