THE ELEMENTS OF COMPUTER SYSTEM

A computer system is fundamentally composed of hardware that includes the
electronic and mechanical parts of a computer while software are the different
programs and other operating information stored on a computer hardware.

1. Hardware – is the physical component of a computer.

A. Output Devices

a. Monitor – display graphic information and images

through video card.

b. Printer – is an output device that converts information from a computer and

transfer it to a paper to create a hard copy.

c. Speaker/Head Set – is an output computer hardware

that produces sound connected to the computer.

B. Input Devices

a. Mouse – is an input device used to manipulate objects on the

computer screen and can drag the object as well.

b. Scanner – is an input device that captures images

and text and process as required.

c. Digital Pen – is a writing tool connected to the

computer that captures handwriting or stroke of the user.

d. Keyboard – is an input device that has letters and numbers on

the keys. It is used to type data.

C. Storage Device

a. Hard disk drive – is the main and permanent data storage.

b. Optical drive – it is used as an optical disk such as cd,

dvd, and blu-ray dvd.

c. Portable hard disk drive – it is attached to a computer

through usb or wireless connection to your computer.

d. Flash drive – is a portable storage device

because it is handy and less chances of damage.

2. Software – an application or program that tells a computer what to do.

a. System software – is a computer program systematically

designed to run a computer hardware.

b. Operating system - is system software that manages computer

hardware, software resources, and provides common services for
computer programs.

c. Application software – a software created for specific

purpose.

3. Peopleware – the user of computer system.

a. System analyst- A systems analyst, also known as business technology analyst,

is an information technology (IT) professional who specializes in analyzing,
designing and implementing information systems.

b. System programmer - A systems programmer is an information technology

professional who uses their technological expertise in hardware and software to
develop an organization's various platforms. Their knowledge applies when
creating, maintaining, and updating systems and networks that help the
organization function.

c. System operator - System operators manage the power grid from a set of
computer consoles within a control center. System operators interact over the
phone with field crews, general personnel, substation personnel, and other system
operators within their own utility and with neighboring utilities.

HOW TO ACCESS COMPUTER-BASED INFORMATION

According to www.aseantourism.com here are the steps on how to do the task.

If you know the name of the file, or part of it, and you are not sure where the file is
located on the disk you can search for the file. Click Start and the Search Box will
appear.
Enter the name of a file and Windows will
search the disk and show a list of all files
that match the criteria. When you have

follow the same way as naming it for filenames. Your folder can store or hold files
or sub-folders in an easier, useful, and meaningful manner.

C. ACTIVITIES
Directions: Classify the different computer peripherals according to its uses.
