Background
Internet is expected to cover the whole planet with its wide range of services offered
according to Google. New over new innovations have been developed with internet as their
backbone.
In this lesson, we will be studying the different types of services that the internet offers. After
this lesson you should be able to think wider and imagine wiser; for all you know, you can be that
someone who would invent or create something that would go viral on the internet.

1. Electronic Mail (E-mail) – it’s an internet service that enable users to exchange information
like text, image, videos, etc. The information is sent in an electronic form from one computer
to another.

location. Using Telenet, you can control another computer from another location.

3. File Transferring- this service provides user the ability to upload and download files from one
computer to another and vice versa.

can be accessed and utilized.

 6. E-commerce- this is the service that internet offers wherein we can buy or sell goods. Websites using
service provide users the buying and selling facilities.

7. Internet Relay Chat- allows users to send and receive instant messages.

8. Social Media- this internet service allow people with same interest to create their own profile and
interact with each other. Most these platforms offer video conferencing and chat.
