6 Top fill job : Rig use to perform top fill job without success even after using metal baskets &
pumping a huge volume of slurry , after that one idea comes to my mind we applied it and it nicely works . It
consist to cut the MPB , cover it with plastic and fill it with Gypsum as shown in the The following steps

1st Cut the upper side of Metal Basket. 2nd cover by plastic.

3rd fill up the MPB with gypsum. 4th two metal baskets can be used to get more efficiency
Important Note: To perform the top fill job successfully remarks below to be applied:
 Make sure the MPB(s) are located just above losses zone.
 The casing tally to be double checked, (there is no way to Tag the bottom because if you
pick up the string, you will damage the MPB)
 Cement slurry to be pumped slowly (0.2 m3/min Max ) to allow a good reaction with
Gypsum and to avoid washing out the Plastic .
 Pump Max of 5 m3 of slurry if no Cement at cellar, 2nd attempt can be made, Drop some
Gypsum sacs into the Annulus Conductor pipe & 13 3/8” CSG and re-pump 5 m3 of slurry
using same precaution.
 If no cement on cellar, Top fill job can be made just after cementing the Next CSG
(details on 9 5/8” CSG job).

If OBM to be used in Next section, cellar to be covered properly to avoid the

OBM to drain to the losses zone.
