ABOUT STUDIO STUDIO PROBLEM STATEMENT PURLIN DESIGN

The main focus of the studio was to make understand different forms inspired by nature as
To provide roofing at Amphitheatre using bamboo as material
well as different type of material their behavior, characteristics and also how to work
simultaneously with the material without disturbing form.
The studio intends to develop a form using a material assigned to us and also to design SITE DETAILS
completely so hereby we can go through the process of fully from scratch to design i.e.
from site allocation to structure development.

also plays very important role as structure with larger element size were more stable than bamboo of 0.075 m diameter and purlin 3 to

The Staad analysis is to find out what are the impacts
of the 4 bamboo provided with the depth as well as
width.

section modulus.
FINAL MODEL

LOAD COMBINATION AND LOAD PATH

• Dead load, Live load & Wind load will act on roof then in
form of UDL transfer to purlin
• Then from purlin in form reaction will act on beam
• And finally from beam to pedestal and from that to
ground
In the designing of the structure, Working stress method is
used. So, there are no factored load in the WSM. Therefore,
total 5 load cases are adopted mentioned below
1) Dead load + Live load
MANDU 2) Dead load + Wind load (+cpi)
3) Dead load + Wind load (-cpi)
4) Dead load + Live load + Wind load (+cpi)
5) Dead load + Live load + Wind load (-cpi)
