TASK DESCRIPTION​ (What do I have to do?)  


PART 1: PERFORMANCE 
● Students are to play a song studied in class using the chords D, G and A ​with another student 
as a duo. 
● Students are to apply a strumming pattern appropriate to the style.  
● Students will be guided through the practising process during class. 
● Play a chord progression from sight (with 2-5 minutes to prepare and no 
instruction from your teacher) 
● Develop your own arrangement of the song and devise a suitable strumming 
pattern to apply.

TASK DESCRIPTION
1. Using GarageBand, students will compose, perform and record multiple
microphone tracks (4-6) of different rhythm ostinatos and layer them to
create their final composition (polyrhythmic).
2. Students can record themselves playing/drumming rhythms on different
items around the house. For example; buckets, pots, pans, tables etc.
3. The duration of the composition is to be between 30 seconds to 1 minute.
4. Students will use a moderate tempo (andante) to perform their composition.

2. Scroll down and select ‘export song to disk’
3. Choose mp3 format and save onto your desktop.
