If the city council decided to improve my
community, I would prefer for them to set up a
community garden for two reasons. First, a
community garden would help to improve
people’s health because it would provide people
with easy access to fresh vegetables. Many
people do not eat enough vegetables because
they cannot easily buy them. Second, it would
bring neighbors closer together. Most people
don’t get to know their neighbors these days.
However, if they had to take care of the garden,
they would naturally meet other people who
were doing the same. For these reasons, I
would prefer for the city council to set up a
community garden.

department. Over the past few semesters, fewer
and fewer engineering students have been
using the service because they do not think that
the tutoring center is very useful to them. In
addition, the tutoring program has had difficulty
finding engineering students who are both
qualified and willing to work at the center. Due
to the minimal interest and the staffing issues,
the tutoring center will no longer offer tutoring
for engineering students.

W Hello, Grant. Did you see the notice
about the tutoring center?
M You mean how they aren’t going to
have tutors for engineering students
anymore? I don’t think it’s a good
idea.
W Well, they said that not many
students are using it, so it must not
be very useful.
M I don’t agree with that. I often visit the
tutoring center when I have trouble
understanding my homework. It’s
also really helpful right before exams.
