Students seem to realize what they have been missing for the last two years of
pandemic and are keener than ever to play sports. Finally, the long wait is over. This
year’s intramurals at Don Honorio Ventura State University brings excitement and
happiness for us as first-year students. Despite of the poor weather on the day of the
parade, I still enjoyed watching and taking photos.

Moreover, in accordance with the CHTM’s game plan, they did not let their opponent,

CBS, to get the lead all throughout the game resulting to the latter being outplayed by a
strong defense and offensive shootings. Meanwhile, three players from CHTM gained five
fouls which caused them to graduate from the game but it did not become a hindrance
for them to take control of the match. Among the star players were Sabado with 14
points, Masangcay with 16 points, and Cruz with 24 points- not to mention the good
teamwork and sportsmanship shown by the players-their team, CHTM, reclaimed the
championship title. One of the players of CHTM admitted that CBS team are good
players, but their teamwork and the way they enjoyed the game were their advantage.
On the other hand, CBS’ so called scoring machine, Pineda, garnered 42 points but it was

not enough to get the title.

Nevertheless, both teams were appreciated by their respective supporters as they gave

the crowd a worthwhile title. Intramural is one of the highlight of a student’s college life
and I must admit that even if I am not a player, I really enjoyed cheering for our
department. This kind of event is really a great help for the students to build their self-
confidence, show their hidden skills/talents, and acquire the virtues of sportsmanship,
camaraderie, and companionship.
