NR222 WEEK 5 COMMUNICATION BARRIERS

Communication Barriers

Person centered communication is the faculty of identifying an individual and responding

to his feelings, needs and desires. According to Naughton (2018), a patient-centered approach to

communication is to acknowledge the whole person, their personality, life history, and social

structure in order to develop a shared understanding of the problem, the goals of treatment, and

the barriers to that treatment and wellness. We often find ourselves in deviations of opinions in

such communication, and to achieve a standard conclusion one requires to develop an effective

strategy in the expression of notions. The first approach is by weighing the arguments and

programing them from different perspectives (Williams et al., 2018). If one appears to be the

most germane, one may opt to change the other opinion by relevant ideals. Staying neutral is the

best approach in expressing opinions in a way that does not appear boastful (Digiulio, 2019). If

the conclusion is not attained, the two involved can opt to implicate a third party if the

information is sensitive and there is a great need to be addressed.

In some scenarios while trying to imply person centered communication, we often find

ourselves in opinion divergences. James a doctor at a local hospital, once found himself in a

disagreement with her patient.
