NAME: LAMA, MALACHI N. DATE: 10/17/22

COURSE/YEAR/SECTION: BSIT-1ST YEAR-1C INSTRUCTOR: MR. CABALITAN

ACTIVITY# 1

ESSAY: ANSWER THE FOLLOWING QUESTIONS BRIEFLY.

1. WHAT IS THE IMPORTANCE OF ETHICS TO MAN’S LIFE? CITE AT LEAST ONE (1)
SITUATION WHERE IT CAN BE ILLUSTRATED. (5 points)
For citizens, even for those of us with no aspirations in a career in law enforcement, morality and
integrity are important characteristics to demonstrate. We instinctively know that it is good t o be
moral and act with integrity, but by coming to an understanding of the reasons for morality and
integrity, we will be motivated to champion such behaviour. Among the reasons to be moral and
integral, regardless of occupation are to:

 Make society better. When we help make society better, we are rewarded with also making
better own lives and the lives of our families and friends. Without moral conduct, society would
be a miserable place.

2. WHAT IS THE AIM OF ETHICS? (5 points)

The aim of ethics has been viewed in different ways: according to some, it is the discernment of
right from wrong actions; to others, ethics separates that which is morally good from what is
morally bad; alternatively, ethics purports to devise the principles by means of which conducting a
life worth to be lived.
3. FOR YOU, WHAT IS THE MEANING OF MORAL JUDGMENT? EXPLAIN YOUR
ANSWER. (5 points)
For me, Moral judgment refers to the determination a person makes about an action (or
inaction), motive, situation, or person in relation to standards of goodness or rightness.
People articulate a moral judgment, for example, when they say that an action is right or
wrong, that a person is good or bad, or that a situation is just or unjust.

4. WHY SHOULD MAN LIVE A MORAL LIFE? (5 points)

Being moral (or good) is necessary for having self-respect. Self-respect is necessary for happiness.
Therefore, being good is necessary for happiness.
Because being good lets you see what is true of value in the world. Part of what being good requires
is that good people know what is good in the world and what is not. Bad people have bad values,
good people have good values. Having good values means valuing what deserves to be valued and
not valuing what does not deserve to be valued.

5. WHAT IS YOUR PHILOSOPHY IN LIFE? (5 points)

My life philosophy as a student is "Enjoy every process and do it as best I can."

Here is my brief description about philosophy of life :

All children who are in the period of being students are studying and going to school, not
just going to school and sitting on the bench. The learning process was not trivial. Because every
child has a challenge to be able to absorb everything that is obtained in education, both formal and
informal. That way, I also feel that it is important to have a good spirit and a fighting spirit through
a guide that I call a philosophy of life. That in this period of being a student, I must be able to enjoy
every process, whatever it is, the ease, difficulty, obstacles, challenges, fatigue, and so on. I also try
to do my best in every learning process that I participate in. It's not about "numbers", but about
the struggle and passion that I put into each process.

In any position and time, this life presents a variety of very beautiful processes, whether you
expect them or not. So even though I'm still a student right now, I need to enjoy the process and my
journey. I enjoy it because it makes me feel grateful and always remember God.
