Sajek valley,a tourist place surrounded by vast mountains and green shadows of older trees,
has become a common destination for many tourists) for its mesmerizing natural beauty,and
welcoming native people, however, the place also has its drawbacks as well. Initially. Sajek
valley is famous for the natural beauty it offers. It is surrounded by massive mountains, dense
forests, and an exciting hill track. To elaborate, the tourist can enjoy the magnificent glory of
the sun during the sunrise and the sunset because the colourful view of those times from any
high place in the hills will fascinate the visitor. Secondly, visitors can take pleasure in the
hospitality offered by the indigenous locals, as they are highly generous and charitable
Although they are not fluent enough in Bengali, the tourists do not face challenges in
communicating with them as the locals always come forward to help them. However, despite
all these welcoming characteristics, Sajek does have a few challenges for visitors; one of the
challenges is the transport facilities from the nearby town to Sajek are not very comfortable
for all types of travelers. In most cases, old and risky jeeps are used as a mode of transport.
Many tourists, particularly elderly people and young ones may feel discomfort while
traveling on those bumpy, outdated jeeps. Moreover, compared to other travel destinations in
Bangladesh Sajek has limited access to basic facilities like water and electricity. Though the
valley does have some access to water and electricity, they are by no means sufficient for
everyone at all times. To conclude, the colourful and comfortable natural environment of the
Sajek valley permits tourists to enjoy its spectacular view, and the warmest hospitality of the
locals as long as they do not mind the hassle on road and the limitations of essentials like
water and power.
