Tourism Industry Profile of the Site/Destination
Brief Description
Its shallow pool will make it tempting you to jump and dive in. It's probably clearer at high noon, but the
bottom of the brook the sand and rocks is still visible. There are shallow areas where children can safely
enjoy the mountain waters. The location was most likely named after the Blue Rock Aggregates
Corporation, a demolition company that you will pass on your way to the stream. Blue Rock Lagoon, on
the other hand, is a brook or a small stream, not a lagoon. For some reason, Filipinos associate the term
'lagoon' with a body of water that resembles a pool.

• The place probably got its name for its proximity to the Blue Rock Aggregates
Corporation, a destruction company, no less, that you will pass by on the way to the
stream.
• Blue Rock Lagoon is not a lagoon, but a brook Or asmall stream, Forsome reason,
Filipino associate and apply the word "lagoon" to a body of water that resembles a pool.
Quality of surroundings
• There are no near landfills nor dump sites within the 5 kilometer range from the tourist
site. Furthermore, the stream is located in the mountains of Montalban, Rizal which
makes it remote and only two-wheeled vehicles can enter.
• There are quarrying activities in Barangay. Isidro, Montalban in which the tourist site is
located. (Last October 2021, the NBI arrested 12 individuals for illegal quarrying in the
area.)
• There are no informal settlements in the area as it is already monitored by the DENR.
There is an entrance fee before entering the lagoon and there are allotted parking
spaces for motorcycles and bikes. Thus, the opportunities for the locals to form informal
settlements in the area is highly unlikely.
• Since the area is in the midst of mountains of Montalban, the Blue Rock Lagoon will give
you a complete green view of the environment that complements the crystal-clear
waters of the stream. There are also a lot of mahogany trees in the area which serves as
a sign for the visitors that they are already near the Blue Rock Lagoon once they enter
the “mahogany forest”.
• Since the area is remote and is only accessible by foot, and two wheeled vehicle, the
presence of support services is unideal in case of emergencies.
