OfficeDescription AsanintegralpartoftheUniversityofSouthernCalifornia,theFinancialAidOffice(FAO)servesstudents byassessingfinancialneedthroughtheuseoffederalandinstitutionalmethodologies.TheFAO coordinatesacombinationofgrants,scholarships,andloansintoafinancialaidawardpackage,which meetsthecalculatedfinancialneedforeachindividualfamily. JobDescription TheFAOGraduateAssistantwillmanageandoverseethestudentworkersthattheoffice regularlyutilizesforspecialprojectsthroughouttheyear. TheGAwillliaisewithFAOmanagerstoensurethathe/sheisawareoftheneedsofthe differentdepartmentswithintheFAOandwillassignandschedulestudentworkersaccordingly. Additionally,itwillbethedutyoftheGAtoassiststudentworkers,manyofwhomare undergrads,indevelopingtransferrableskillswhileonthejobandinhavingapositive experienceatwhatmaybeafirstemploymentopportunity. Withthetaskofdevelopingamutuallybeneficialworkenvironmentforstudentworkersandthe FAO,theGAwillassessdepartmentalneedsandstudentconcernsthroughconductingsurveys andholdingmeetingswithappropriateparties. TheGraduateAssistantintheFinancialAidofficewilllearnthestructureandbasicfunctionsof thefinancialaidofficeinordertotrainanddirectstudentworkers.Additionally,theGAwillbe abletofillinonprojectswhenevernecessary.
