Simplest Form
o List the factors of the numerator and the
denominator.
o Find the greatest common factor (GCF)
o Divide the numerator and the denominator by the
greatest common factor.

Example: 6 1, 2, 3, 6 3 is a common factor.


18 1, 2, 3, 6, 9, 18
6÷3= 2 2
18÷3= 6 6

Example: 5 1, 5 5 is the GCF


100 1, 5, 20, 100

5÷5= 1 1
100÷5=20 20
