Mission Statement

Last Chance for Animals (LCA) recognizes that animals have the ability to experience pain, and
as such they deserve certain basic rights protecting them from pain caused by humans. LCA
believes that non-human animals should not be subjected to suffering and exploitation by
humans because alternatives exist for nearly every traditional "usage" of animals. LCA opposes
the use of animals for scientific curiosity, entertainment, clothing, and food. LCA recognizes the
use of non-human animals in medical experimentation as both immoral and of questionable
scientific validity due to the tremendous biological difference between species. LCA's work
advocates conscious and informed lifestyle decisions, and LCA is committed to disseminating
truthful information about societal animal abuse to improve the treatment of animals.

Purpose

LCA was founded by Hollywood actor Chris Derose. The purpose of this organization is to
create awareness for animal cruelty worldwide. They have its roots in fighting and exposing the
inherent cruelty of vivisection.
Part Two

I chose this organization because I admire everything they do for animals worldwide. I

love how they raise awareness in nonviolent ways after getting inspiration from Gandhi and

Martin Luther King. Their purpose is protecting animals from animal exploitation which is when

they use them for food. They oppose using animals for food , entertainment and so forth. A

benefit I think this organization has on my community is their intention is to save animals from

harsh environments. The role I envision doing when being a part of this organization is to

organize more protests and petitions to the government to pass laws that’ll benefit the animals. A

personal benefit I’d receive from joining this organization would be gaining experience in

organizing protests and realizing what is really going on with the animals worldwide.
