Mission Statement:

Last Chance for Animals (LCA) is an international, non-profit organization dedicated to eliminating
animal exploitation through education, investigations, legislation, and media attention. LCA believes that
animals are highly sentient creatures who exist for their own reasons independent of their service to
humans; they should not be made to suffer for the latter. LCA opposes the use of animals in food and
clothing production, scientific experimentation, and entertainment and promotes a cruelty-free lifestyle
and the ascription of rights to non-human beings.

Mission/Purpose:

The purpose of the organization Last Chance for Animals is to help animals that aren’t being taken care of
in a correct manner. Animals also have a heart and a brain just like us humans, so they have their own
perspective of life and way of living. This organization aims to support animals of any kind that are being
abused, taken advantage of, or even being killed for their fur or their meat. They stand up for animals who
don’t have a voice and show what goes on behind the scenes when animals are used for entertainment,
food, and even fashion. Last Chance for Animals tries to help as many animals as they can and make
petitions to the government that can truly change the law to help animals around the world.

Part II

The reason I chose Last Chance for Animals is because I have always had a passion towards

animals and I stand for as many animals getting help from people that take advantage of them for their

own personal gain. Animals should also never be abused as they have their own soul and heart, just like

us humans. This organization strives to help those animals that are in danger in any way possible and

spread the word of what truly goes on behind the scenes of how some animals are treated when used for
things such as entertainment and fashion. Just because animals can’t communicate with us, doesn’t mean

that they don’t have feelings towards things. They have a lot of information in their website such as on the

campaigns part of the website, where they have links to other websites that provide more information on

certain topics. This organization provides a benefit to our community by informing people on these topics

are important because some people don’t truly know what goes on behind the scenes and what these

animals go through to benefit humans.

A role I would envision myself as a volunteer for this organization is spreading awareness about

what animals go through and sending people to the website for more information. I would also participate

in protests that they host and pass out brochures to the people around my area to provide information that

they may not know about. It also states in the website that sometimes they would need help setting up

information tables so I would do that as well. Doing all of this would hopefully spread the word to as

many people in my area and provide useful information that people could read and provide more help

toward the organization. The personal benefit I would gain from volunteering for this organization is

knowing in my heart that somewhere out there another person will learn something new about animals

being in danger. I also know that the more I spread the word, more animals will be helped and be taken

out of places that cause them harm. The organization can take matters into their own hands with the

power of the people.
