HOW DID jen

The ending of "The Gift of the Magi" was surprised me, I can’t believe
that they are willing to give up their both treasure things to fill or buy a new gift
to each other. And it surprised me when Jim tells Della that he sold his watch
in order to raise enough money to buy her a Christmas present, an expensive
set of tortoise-shell combs for her long hair. This is especially important
because it resolves Della's main problem. She wants Jim to love her.

I could not believe the last part of the story, when they are both willing to give
up their treasure things that they have to buy a Christmas present to each
other. In this part we can see how they unconditionally love each other.

The author thought I knew that the story that this story tells of a young
husband and wife and how they deal with the challenges of buying secret
Christmas gift for each other with a very little money.

JEN My understanding changed when both characters showed that they love each other, it proven
enough when they are willing to make sacrifices to buy a Christmas gift for each other.
TUTOY My understanding about sacrificing in terms of love changed when I read and understand this
story. Because they chose to keep the gifts as remembrance, not of their foolishness, instead their
sacrifice proving that what is true love? And it showed an unconditional love. It was really true that no
matter what challenges comes and after all that love can cover countless mistakes.

We need our loved ones more than ever. Although watch fobs and hair combs may be less
common than they once were, the desire for unconditional love is not.
