STUDYI
NG
I learned many new concepts/principles in this topic which is intitled STUDYING GENDER
AS A SOCIAL FACT, just like the characteristics of women, men, boys and girls that are

GENDER
socially constructed and that includes the roles, the norms and the behaviors, as well as the
relationships with each other. As a social construct, gender varies from society to society

AS A
and can change overtime. In this topic gender examines how society influences our
understandings and perception of differences between masculinity and femininity.

SOCIAL
Gender has a big part of our society because it determined what an individual feels and

FACT
does. It has social fact that consist of collective thoughts and shared expectations that
influence individual actions such as norms, laws, values, belief and customs. Eventhough we
have many differences in terms of everything, the important thing is we respect each other
because as of my experiences with my friends specially with my gay friends, we see each
other as sisters not by blood but by heart.

As the day goes by, I realized that in this world full of different genders not just three genders
but more, we need to understand and normalize that we people have differences when god
created us. We just need to respect and love each other because as we faced many
circumstances, we still choose to help each other to solve the problem. As long as we are
happy on what we are doing and we don’t hurt the feeling of others, just enjoy and continue
to be happy.

As a Human being and created by God, it is natural for us to face many circumstances in
life. God give some circumstances/problems in our life to test how strong we are, to see
how we overcome that particular problems. Sometimes, I got problems with my gay friend
with his attitude when he talk to other people (so unprofessional) but I understand him,
mama told me that, that’s the natural mouth of a gay, I think she needs some attentions to
others that he cannot get to his family or relatives. But still we’re friends and we’re good.
TOPIC: GENDER AND
SEXUALITY
The concepts/principles that I remember in this topic which is intitled GENDER AND
SEXUALITY is that what are the differences and the importance of gender and
sexuality and it gives important forces because it shapes every aspects of our lives,
like we know that our bodies, minds and selves through our gender and our sex. The
social expectations or also our own expectations about women and men sex and
reproduction organize our medical, legal, educational and political system.

We already know that Gender and Sexuality has a very big connections and I, as a
student we need to study, for us to learn because in the perfect time we all experience
what other or even parents experience right now, for us to know and get some ideas
about gender and sexuality and how we see ourselves as a boy/male, girl/female,
transgender, intersex or somehow in between, It can help increase understanding and
help us youth establish our own identity.

My realizations of that experiences is that to make us more knowledgeable or to have

some learnings, we need to do some research or read some book about Gender and
Sexuality instead before doing some actions. This topic make me realize that sexuality
is an integral part of being human just like our sexual feelings, thoughts, attractions
and behaviors towards other people.

Women experience Violence and Discrimination based on their sex and gender.
Sexual and reproductive are under increased threat in the whole world. LGBT people
are harassed, discriminate against, and attacked because of their sexual orientation
or gender identity. Not only Women but also the Man can experience Violence and
Discrimination but it is quietly often to hear.
TOPIC:
GENDER
, SEX
The concepts/principles that I learned in this topic which is in titled GENDER, SEX
AND LOVE is that the definition, the connections of the three and the similarities

AND
and differences. According to Immanuel Kant’s philosophy, Gender, Sex and Love
is the first volume to present a comprehensive philosophical theory that brings

LOVE
together and provide a critique of emotionally healthy and morally permissible
sexual, loving, gendered being.

We humans have different biological and physiological characteristics of males and

females, such as reproductive organs, chromosomes, hormones etc., but all
humans even though we have many differences we have the right to love, not just
in our girlfriend/wife or boyfriend/husband but also to our parents, neighbors,
brothers and sisters or even all the person that surrounded us. Despite of all the
differences, we choose to love each other to be united.

I realize that Sexual connections is a vital aspects of most romantic relationships,

but it’s not always as central as people may think, also love and sex are not the
same thing because Love is a feeling or emotion or a feeling. There is no one
definition of love because the word love can mean many different things to many
different people but Sex, on the other hand is a biological event and may or may
not include penetration.

If there are circumstances that we faced in the near future, we nee d to be

knowledgeable to faced and solve it. We need to explore our knowledge so that we
can apply those things if there are circumstances or problems. We never know
when the problems come but atleast we are ready to faced and have some
knowledge to solve eventhough our knowledge haven’t good enough.
TOPIC:
VIOLEN
CE
The concepts/principles that I learned in this topic which is in titled Violence Against

AGAINS
Women or the Violence Against Women and their Children (VAWC). The term Violence
against women means any act of gender-based violence that results in physical, sexual

T
or psychological harm or suffering to women, including threats of such acts, coercion or
arbitrary deprivation of liberty, weather occurring in public or private life.

WOME
As of today, I am so grateful and thankful because at the age of 19, I don’t experience

N
physical abuse or any kind of abuse/violence. I hope and pray that in my near future I
don’t experiences any kind of abuse from my love ones or in other people. I can’t share
any experience about being abuse but when I see a women who are victims of violence
on the tv or I see a women personally, so pity I can’t imagine myself in that situation.

We people understand what abuse is but it is quite hard, most people that are abused
have no clue about what is being done to them hence, I realize that to study abuse it is
very important that we understand that abuse is and the ways in which someone can
abuse another individual. People who are abused first of all do not know if they are a
victim of abuse, also the ones who are being abusive do not understand what they are
doing is wrong and effects the victims life in several ways.

Some circumstances is when I am a victim of a physical abuse but because of my

knowledge and my dedication to fi9ght for my justice. I’ll going to ask some help
specially in the government because they have the law to address the prevalence of
Violence against women and their children (VAWC) or the RA 9262. All of us wants to
be treated with respect and dignity.
TOPIC:
GENDER
AND
Concepts/Principles that I learned in this topic which is in titled GENDER AND

POLITIC
POLITICS is that gender and politics study how people’s political participation and
experiences interact with their gender identity, and how ideas of gender shape political

S
institutions and decision making. In this topic we can see that not only man can do in
terms of politics also a women can, we can see here that in all terms there is equality.

As my experience as an Sk Secretary in our barangay, I see the equality in terms of

work, not because you are a women you cannot do this or you are a man you cannot
do this except in the heavy works, In us all are equal if who are vacant in that time
he/she can do the duty. Equality between men and women exists when both sexes
are able to share equally in the distribution of power and influence.

I realize that equality is very important thing, a fair society is one in which every
individual has an equal opportunity to prosper and succeed. In order to have a fair and
just society, we must first have equality because if there are no equality in all aspects,
there are no fairness or unity in a society. A society that is fair and equal also helps
improve all other public value outcomes.

Sometimes in our daily life we can try inequality especially in terms of political
representation, just like the ability to access governmental resources which therefore
have no civic equality. Other is if they found out that you didn’t vote for them in
election time, you have no right to avail some opportunities, help and other
government offers, that’s the truth or the reality that we can never ever change.
