BEFORE:

Rhailey: So ma’am and sir, this will be your new house. It is very lovely, suitable for your family. The
house that you dreamed of, you’re now stepping on it.
Jam: Thank you sir. I surely love this house! Right honey?
Gab: Yes darling.
Rhailey: The only con in living this house is that it’s near to a volcano, and the volcano in this town is
active. It erupts once in a year, so I advise you to prepare for any possible eruptions this year.
Gab: Why? Does that mean for this year the volcano hasn’t erupted yet?
Atasha: Yes sir, that’s why we volunteered to greet you on your first day here in your new home. We
just want to make sure that every resident is safe and prepared in this barangay.
Jam: Oh I hope it will not erupt this year!
Atasha: welcome to your new home, Mr. and Mrs. Degamon. The first priority you need to work for
now, is to prepare for an unexpected volcanic eruption since you choose to move near a volcano. You
and your family should stock an emergency supply kit with items that you and your family will be
needing for the next 72 hours. This should include canned goods, water, battery-powered radio,
batteries, masks, flashlights, medications, and some extra clothes for each member.
Gab: Oh thank you, we’ll take note of that.
Atasha: In case, the volcano erupts suddenly, you have to stay inside your house if possible with
windows and doors closed. Wear long-sleeve shirts and long plants to protect your skin from ashes.
Googles to protect your eyes should be included. No family member should stay here and is expected to
evacuate early, no going to ares downwind, and river valleys downstream of the volcano. Here I'm going
to show you the route from your house to the evacuation center, you are already listed on the families
that are expected to stay in the center in case an emergency arrives.
Jam: It must be a blessing to this town to have a great doctor like you!
Atasha: Thank you ma’am! We will now leave you here ma’am and sir. It’s nice meeting your family!
Jam: Honey, we have to buy groceries and also buy materials needed for the preparation.
Jam: Kids, your daddy and I will go buy groceries. Kaizza, you take care of your younger brother and
unpack our things slowly.
Kaizza: Sure mommy.
Jam: Kids, listen to me, your mommy, we will prepare an emergency kit okay?
Kyle: But for what mommy? Are we going to die already??
Jam: Silly boy, no, we’re not going to die.
Gab: So we will need food and water in our kit, because food and drinking water is the most essential
element of survival.
Jam: Next we have flashlight, flashlights can be used to find people who require rescue, and a great tool
for people who need rescuing to signal for help especially at night.
Gab: We have radio, Cell sites can be down during disasters, so it helps to have a radio that can keep
you updated on relief and rescue efforts.
Jam: Lastly we have batteries.
Kaizza: Oh I know that one! In case of an unexpected power outage, having a supply of batteries on
hand is crucial. They might also be the only available power source in an emergency.
Gab: Good job! What a bright girl you are!
Jam: Come on, help me unpack and organize our things.
DURING:

Gab: Come on everyone, gather at the living room, let’s all stay together and try not to panic.
Gab: We have to wait for further announcements, okay?
Rhailey: Come on everyone! Evacuate immediately! EVACUATE!

AFTER:

Atasha: good morning Mr. and Mrs. Degamon, what happened to your son?
Jam: (inaudible crying)
Atasha: Please lay him carefully here, so I can check him and treat his wounds...

Atasha: how are you feeling now, Kyle? Do you feel difficulty of breathing or something unwell?
Family: (Cries in relief)
Atasha: Here are some medications you should take for a while until you feel better. As for his wounds,
it's not something that serious you just have to disinfect it so it won't cause infections.

Gab: Honey, kids, the authorities have advised that it’s safe to go back to the house, but of course I have
to wear proper clothes for protection.
Jam: Are you sure honey? What if something happens to you?
Gab: No, I will be super extra careful my darling, don’t worry. I promise you.
Jam: You promised me that okay? Make sure when you come back here you’re still intact.
Jam: We now have to pack our things so that we can return to the house immediately.

Gab: Hi honey, well it is now very safe to go back to the house but we have to clean it.
Jam: Were there any damages?
Gab: No, it just needs cleaning. I have to leave you three here so that I can clean the house okay?
Jam: Are you sure honey you don’t need help?
Gab: I can ask for help with the barangay officials honey, its okay.
Jam: Okay honey, make sure you cover your eyes and nose when cleaning, be careful my love!

Kaizza: Mommy mommy! Daddy’s home!

Jam: Honey, good thing you’re okay.
Kaizza: Was it hard to clean the house dad?
Gab: Not that much. My boy, how are you? You okay now?
Kyle: Yes daddy, I’m much better now!
Gab: Doc, can we now take our son home?
Atasha: Yes sir, but he has to be in a wheel chair. Here it is.
Jam: Oh thank you so much doctor for helping our family a lot. Words can’t express it.
Atasha: No problem ma’am.
Rhailey: Let me help you with the luggages.
