Equation of the Harmonic waves

A particle or system, when displaced from its

equilibrium (mean) position tends to execute periodic
and harmonic oscillations (i.e., oscillations repeat
themselves in equal interval of time) about the
position.
A force is called restoring force tends to act on the
particle in the opposite direction to its displacement (x)
as it tries to regain its equilibrium position.

Speed of wave (υ) υ = λൗ𝑇

 The distance traveled by the wave in a given time (T)
 In a periodic wave, wave propagates at constant speed. f = 1ൗ𝑇
Frequency of wave (f) υ = λ𝑓
 Number of waves passes a fixed point in a given time (T)
 For a circular wave motion angular frequency (ω)
ω = 2π𝑓
Phase of wave T = 2πൗω
 Phase specifies the location or timing of a point within a
wave cycle of a repetitive waveform.
