SCENE 1

EXT: LEAVING HOUSE, MORNING

Front door closes and ETHAN speed walks towards his car. He unlocks
it and gets inside.

INT: INSIDE THE CAR, MORNING

Ethan adjusts his mirrors of the car and starts to drive.

ETHAN (voiceover):
I’m always late, ever since I was a kid. I’m
beginning to think I’m cursed.

EXT: STAIRS, MORNING

Ethan runs down staircase outside

ETHAN (voiceover):
I’m late to work...

EXT: PAVEMENT, MORNING

Ethan continues to run alongside the road.

ETHAN (voiceover):
Late to football practice...

EXT: OUTSIDE ON FOOTBALL FIELD

Playing Football in a field

ETHAN (voiceover):
I was late to a party last week, my own party for
that matter.

EXT: FLOWER SHOP, MORNING

Ethan runs past the flower shop and then runs back and buys one.
 ETHAN (voiceover):
But this, this I won’t be late for. I’m going to ask
her out. Today.

EXT: PAVEMENT, MORNING

Ethan turns the corner and sees Ava and her boyfriend on a bench
hugging.

ETHAN (voiceover):
You starting to see what I mean now? Just my luck.

INT: BEDROOM, AFTERNOON

Ethan is sat on his chair chucking a ball back and forth at the
wall. His phone rings.

ETHAN:
Hey.

JESSIE:
What’s up with you.

ETHAN:
Nothing, did you know Ava had a boyfriend?

JESSIE:
Yeah, I think they started dating quite recently,
came so out of the blue. I’m sorry. I know you had a
thing for her.

ETHAN:
Yeah, no worries. It’s cool.

JESSIE:
You going to Taylor’s tonight? He’s invited a bunch
of us round to his.
 ETHAN:
Nah, not today. Anyway, why’d you call?

JESSIE:
Was just asking about Taylor’s.

ETHAN:
Ahh ok, speak later yeah. Alright, bye.

EXT: STREET, AFTERNOON.

Ethan is walking down the road and comes across a poster. The poster
says ‘Life not going so great? Tear off a slip and get the life you
want’. He looks at the poster and tears off a piece of the paper. He
is then teleported.

INT: WHITE BLANK ROOM

Ethan opens his eyes and looks around confused.

ETHAN:
Well, this is certainly not what I was expecting.
There’s no way this is happening.

AI VOICE
Thank you for visiting today. 2 things before we
begin. 1, you may only visit here once. 2 you must
be specific in what you wish for.

ETHAN:
In what I wish for? Hm gee, I don’t know. A coffee, a
stable income, a car that actually works. What the hell
is this place?

AI VOICE
 A coffee. Thank you for your wish. You may now
leave.

ETHAN
A coffee. What no? That’s not what I-

EXT: STREET, AFTERNOON

Ethan teleports back on the street. His hands raise up, out of his
control and a coffee cup appears there. He is shocked and runs
towards the poster. The poster is not there anymore.

ETHAN
No. No, no, no, no, no, no. How is this possible.

He sees the poster flying away on the street and runs towards it. He
rips off another slip and gets teleported again.

INT: WHITE BLANK ROOM

Ethan opens his eyes and looks around again. The room is flashing
with red lights.

ETHAN:
I’d like to make another wish.

AI VOICE
Hello Ethan. You may only wish for one thing. Are
you sure you want to go ahead with an additional
wish?

ETHAN:
I want Ava.

AI VOICE:
Ava. Okay. You will get Ava.
EXT: PAVEMENT
Ethan is outside and Ava appears near him.

ETHAN:
Hey. Um-

AVA:
Hello Ethan. I am yours now.

ETHAN:
What?

AVA:
I am yours.

Ava glitches and moves in a robotic way.

AVA:
What should we do Ethan?

ETHAN:
You’re not Ava. I’m going home, I don’t know what
you’re doing.

EXT: OUTSIDE COFFEE SHOP, MORNING

Ethan looks through the window of a coffee shop and sees that the
coffee cup is sort of blacked out and looks like a void. He walks
into the shop and sees that all the coffee cups are like this. He
looks panicked and gets flashbacks to when he asked for a coffee. He
is getting another flashback to when he asked for Ava. He reaches
for his phone and goes back outside to call Ava.

ETHAN:
Ava?! Are you okay?
 AVA:
Yes? Why wouldn’t I be.

ETHAN:
Oh, thank God.

AVA:
Wait. What's happening. Ethan!

INT: INSIDE AVA’S ROOM

Ava’s hand is blacked out, like the coffee cups in the coffee shop.
She drops the phone and her blackout hand spreads to her arm.

AVA:
Wait. What's happening. Ethan!

ETHAN:
Omg. Ava, don’t worry I’m coming right too you hang
on a few minutes.

EXT: OUTSIDE COFFEE SHOP, MORNING

Ethan runs and puts locks his phone in his pocket. He looks down at
his hands and his vision is warped and everything is changing
colours. He looks at a woman who turns her head and the face is
blanked out. Things around him start to look like cartoons and he
stops and looks around. Ethan puts his hands over his head and
blinks hard. Everything returns to normal. He runs and comes across
a portal which he accidently runs into.

INT: DINNER TABLE

Ethan gets teleported into a dining room with food and candles. He
is disorientated and knocks over the salt.

EXT: TOP OF A PARKING LOT, EVENING

There are stars and Ethan’s vision is still blurred and he walks to
the edge of the parking lot and looks down. A car drives past.
EXT: BUSY ROAD, NEW YORK CITY
A car drives past Ethan and he is randomly in New York. He spins
around looking panicked. Things around him glitch and people are
walking backwards apart from him. The New York billboards are all
showing videos of Ethan. The background around him changes as he
runs.

EXT: BUSY ROAD, ENGLAND

A black void comes towards him and swallows him hole. There is now
nothing but static left.
