Q1) Given the radius of earth = 6.37 ×10 6 m

And the mass of earth = 5.96 ×1024 kg

And the universal gravitation constant G = 6.67259 ×10−11 N m2 /kg 2

We know the formula to calculate g

Q2) The value of g decreases with increasing altitude above the Earth’s surface.

Introduction
The term "freely falling object" does not always relate to an item that has been dropped from
rest. Any object traveling freely under the influence of only gravity is said to be freely falling,
regardless of how it started off.
Once released, both objects that are flung upward or downward and those that are released from
rest all fall freely. Regardless of how it started, every item in free fall undergoes a downward
acceleration.

4
Objectives
 To illustrate an important experimental technique: isolation of variables to study the
relation between a pair of variables by holding all others constant.
 To introduce graphical analysis as a tool for determining the relation between
variables.
 To investigate the physical quantities which influence the freely falling objects.
 Measure the gravity acceleration practically and compare it with the exact value

Equipment
1- IEC ‘Free Fall Apparatus’
2- IEC timer LB4064-101
3- stainless steel ball

Analysis and Discussion:
As you can see in h vs t the line is curved because of the t is changing due the height, but on the
h vs t 2 the line is a straight line.
The numbers are increasing because we are going up with every 10cm the time increases,
because whenever the height increases 10cm it would take the ball more time to reach the end.
The numbers we got were expected because we know if we go higher the time would increase,
my experiment relate to the title because the experiment about freely falling objects the whole
point of the experiment is to see the free-falling object and take the time it took to reach the end.

Conclusions and Lessons Learned:

In the end this experiment taught us some important stuff such as how to Measure the gravity
acceleration practically and compare it with the exact value, also how to investigate the physical
quantities which influence the freely falling objects.

Sources of Errors:

7
Some sources of error were the breathing of the human it can affect the stainless-steel ball to take
more time in falling, also the wind is a source of error.
