a. Literal Meaning of Isti’faf

To not do begging, it is not part of the Shariah unless if a person is

1. The person is in debt and not finding any way to pay it off

2. A natural calamity falls and destroys someones belonging

3. One is poverty stricken.

b. Do not beg to anyone except for Allah, Allah should be the only you should be
begging to.

c. Istifif is linked to tolerance is because when you are in a situtation of need, it is

important that you should only resort the begging if you really have to. As the only
person you should be begging is Allah.

Group 2
They are testing the Istifaf of the orphans and testing them that if they see if are gonna
resort the begging or not. They are seeing if their tolerance is good, and they will refrain
from begging.
“And whoever, [when acting as guardian], is self-sufficient should refrain [from taking a
fee];”
Giving the people who are able to be tolerant that they shouldnt do Istifaf
“and whoever is poor - let him take according to what is acceptable”

If they are poor let them resort the begging

If someone who is not able to find marriage they should still abstain from doing sexual
relations as that is haram, and istifaf means dont beg, in this context begging is sexual
relations and being self suffiecient is marriage. A person who cannot be self sufficient
(Get married) should still not resort to begging (Sexual Relations).

Even slave girls want to get this worldly interests and if their owner would compel them
to do it, Allah will be merciful.

Group 4
People who are post their menstrual era, they should still be modest with their clothing
and should not reveal their bodies to the world.
