First Annual Peyton Manning Classic to Benefit Knoxville Habitat for Humanity

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (September 12, 2022) — Knoxville’s Habitat for Humanity division has
partnered with Peyton Manning to host the Peyton Manning Classic at Williams Creek golf
course in Knoxville, Tennessee to help raise over $1 million for the non-profit. This is the first
year of the annual tournament and it will take place on Friday, September 23, 2022, beginning at
9 a.m.

“We are ecstatic to begin this annual partnership with Peyton Manning and Williams Creek golf
course. This day-long tournament will be our main fundraising event each year. We hope it will
raise $1 million annually for our efforts here in Knoxville,” said Knoxville Habitat for Humanity
Director, Sarah Smith.

Peyton Manning, a former University of Tennessee and National Football League quarterback
said he was inspired to help host this tournament to support his former teammate, Joe Grant, who
experienced homelessness while in college.

“Habitat for Humanity not only contributes to building homes for those in need, but it’s also one
of my favorite non-profits,” said Peyton Manning. “I personally know people who directly
benefit from Habitat’s efforts. A lot has changed since I was in school at Knoxville, but there are
still people who need help.”

Through the partnership with Manning, Habitat for Humanity hopes to attract many golfers and
donors to the tournament. Over 50 community partners have also committed to sponsoring the
event, which will help Habitat for Humanity to reach its goal of raising $1 million.

“The funds raised from the inaugural tournament will hopefully allow our division to establish a
permanent headquarters in South Knoxville, where our efforts are needed the most,” explained
Smith. “With the funds from this tournament each year, we also hope to expand our efforts all
throughout Knox county.”

“I’m excited to return to Knoxville and collaborate with one of my favorite non-profits. There is
a real housing crisis in Knoxville, so working with Habitat to create this tournament is a dream
come true. I do what I can to help this city, so be sure to grab your clubs and join me in
supporting the Knoxville community,” added Manning.

Registration for the tournament is now open. Tickets are limited and available at
www.KnoxHabitat.com. Tickets for teams of four players are $800 and single-player tickets are
$200. Prices include an 18-hole play, a golf cart, breakfast, lunch and beverages.
