An Analysis of Domestic Terrorism: White Supremacy, Anarchist and Antifascist Extremists in

the United States of America

Outline

This study is aimed at researching the relentless problem of terrorism in the United States

of America while focusing on domestic terrorist organizations specifically, white supremacists

and Anarchists or Antifascists. Due to the justified focus on counterterrorism policy from foreign

terrorists, focus on domestic terrorism had been neglected (Bjelopera, 2017). However, internal

threats are emerging as the most potent threat to the country’s national security (Ghatak & Prins,

2017)s.

Purpose statement

The purpose of this research is to analyze domestic terrorism while focusing on white

supremacy extremists as well as anarchist extremists and anti-fascists from the right and left

wings respectively through observational and descriptive research. Its aim is to derive a clear

understanding of the concept of domestic terrorism in the context of the ideologies and dynamics

behind its propagation among American citizens. Ultimately, this research intends to formulate a

model for instituting effective counter-extremism strategies for adoption in the fight against

domestic terrorism. To deliver these objectives, the study will offer a description of these

extremist organizations, define their ideologies, core beliefs, and goals. The study will also

describe the organizations’ political actions and propaganda propagation techniques together

with the violent action that they conduct and their radicalization mechanisms. Finally, the study

will recommend effective counter-extremism techniques

Overview

This research paper will conduct an analysis of the concepts, ideologies, and operation

mechanisms and establish effective strategies for countering domestic terrorism. The research

report will encompass a comprehensive analysis of these aspects in topical segments organized

in sections. These sections will comprise of the topical areas beginning with the introduction.

The introduction will describe the area of research, define important concepts, and give a

descriptive background of the area of research. The introduction will also introduce the research

questions, hypothesis, and the scope of the study, its limitations, significance, and objectives and

finally describe the structure of the research paper.

The second section will be the literature review of the research. This section will review

relevant peer studies on the subject area with an aim of expanding knowledge in the area and

establishing a framework for the research and scope.

The third section will be the methodology of the research. This section will establish the

research methods and designs utilized in the study. It will describe the techniques and procedures
for the collection of data, analysis, and presentation. This section will be aimed at proving the

reliability and validity of the research and will contain the areas of data collection, ethical

considerations, and research design.

The fourth section will be findings. This section will describe the observations made. The

fifth section will be the discussion. This section will aim at answering the research questions by

making inferences from the findings. It will essentially discuss the findings of the study.

The final section will be the conclusion. It will make conclusive statements arising from

the discussion and offer recommendations on that basis. Fundamentally, it will also describe the
