CHAPTER 1

THE PROBLEM AND ITS SCOPE

INTRODUCTION

RATIONALE OF THE STUDY

Evidently , blended learning has been implemented with various designs and
has shown a considerable positive effect on the learning process. Majority of the
students in Liloan National High School has been acknowledged as an important
factor in order to estimate the level of satisfaction and self - efficacy . For instance,
the students were divided through two sets ( set A and B ) .Moreover , it is pointed
out that blended learning designs have been implemented in secondary education
courses to tackle problems created by large group sizes.

Analyzing the measurements of students satisfaction can be useful to


determine the self efficacy and help them to pinpoint their strengths and identify
areas for improvement. Further students satisfaction level has been linked to self
efficacy particularly being excellent in critical thinking, communicating, knowledge ,
discipline or focus.

The performance of the students will depend on their academic performance


and the satisfaction level to blended learning education leads to opportunities to
develop personal knowledge and skill. Satisfaction ratings go beyond teaching
assessments, which have a narrow focus, to include broader aspects of the student
learning experience.

In this study , the researchers aim to identify and validate the satisfaction level
and self efficacy of students. Furthermore, the study sight to know the relationship
between the satisfaction level and self efficacy.
THEORETICAL BACKGROUND

This section present the theories that will give more understanding on the
variables in this study : Satisfaction level and Self Efficacy. This theories along with
the concepts that is being studied in this research are being linked to each other.
Hence , creating a diagram below .

Cognitive Learning is an active style of learning that focuses on helping you to learn
how to maximize your brain’s potential . It will make it easier for you to connect new
information with existing ideas hence deepening your memory retention capacity. The
ability of the brain’s mental process is to absorb and retain information through
experience , senses ,and thought it is known as cognition . Traditional learning mainly
focuses on memorization instead on trying to achieve mastery in a particular subject.

Fundamental aspects of cognitive learning :

COMPREHENSION
For cognitive learning to be efficient and benefit you to understand the
reason why you are learning a specific subject .
MEMORY COGNITIVE LEARNING
Discourages cramming information which is very ineffective in
education. Having a deep understanding of a subject improves your ability to relate
new knowledge with previous experiences or information.
APPLICATION
Cognitive learning strategies help you apply new information or skills in
life situations . They encourage you as you continue to develop problem – solving
skills.
STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

The study assessed the satisfaction level and Self efficacy of the students at
Liloan National High School in blended learning .

Specifically , it sought to answer the following questions :

1.What is the satisfaction level of the students in blended learning at Liloan


National High School ?

1.2 QUITE
1.3 SLIGHT
1.4 NOT AT ALL

2 . How does the blended learning approach affect the students academic
performance?
3.What are the students characteristics in blended learning design features for an
effective blended learning environment ?
4.What do students enjoy in adopting in this blended learning and do they gain
from this approach ?

STATEMENT OF HYPOTHESIS

HO : There is no significant relationship between satisfaction level and self efficacy of


students in blended learning .

Ha : There is a significant relationship between satisfaction level and self efficacy of


students in blended learning .
Scope and Delimitation

This study focuses on the satisfaction level and self - efficacy of the students in
blended learning.

In assessing satisfaction level it is delimitated in the knowledge , skills , and


attitudes . In measuring the self – efficacy of the respondents it concentrates
experiences , vicarious experiences , verbal persuasion , and psychological and
affective states .

The respondents will be the Senior High School students of Liloan National
High School regardless of strands , age , and genders.
SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY

In this section , the level and importance of this study are discussed and
elaborated . The proportion of this study will be beneficial of the following :

Students – The result of this study will help the students to cast and observe the
satisfaction level and self efficacy in blended learning . In effect , the practices would
also help them to improve their academic performances and bring beneficial impact in
terms of the learning efficiency of the students in the blended learning .

Teachers - Contributes time to the students for their learning competency and
ensures the capability and consistency of the students in blended learning.

SCHOOL – Improved academic performances and productivity

RESEARCHERS – He / she can benefit from this study to be able for the to
understand study and also to comprehend about the satisfaction level and self
efficacy of the students and to make any recommendations in how to manage the skill
or any academic performances .

FUTURE RESEARCHERS – The future researchers can benefit study because they
will knowledge satisfaction level and self - efficacy of the students in blended
learning.
Definition of terms

SATISFACTION LEVEL – the degree of pleasure and happiness felt as a result of


an individual’s performance
