1. What makes this artwork contemporary?

Aside from its brilliant acting, the way Jodi portrays the serious issue of society since the
ancient times until now makes it a contemporary art. The way she executed her role
perfectly and accurately while showing the disease of society (which is neglection of
someone who badly needs help and support), it is indeed a masterpiece, a piece of
contemporary art.
2. How does this artwork reflect the people of today?
Although possession of demons is not very common nowadays but we can't deny the
fact that it is still part of our society issues even in the present especially in public schools
where several students and sometimes teachers were possessed by demons or evil
elements such as 'tikbalang', etc. This masterpiece shows how people neglect those
people who badly needs help and assistance. Society just simply conclude that these
victims are just crazy or anything like that where in fact, they need more help and support
than that.

Technology:
Name of Artwork: PHONE BUDDIES
Name of Artist: Andrew Rae
1. What makes this artwork contemporary?
This artwork is contemporary because it shows a serious issue of our society in the
present. Mobile addiction is one of the society diseases we are facing now. Rae digitally
draws over photographs of people on their phone, to make it look like fantastical beasts
are emerging from their smartphone screens.
2. How does this artwork reflect the people of today?
Andrew Rae highlights the all-too-familiar sight of people consumed by their mobile
devices in his 2019 series, Phone Buddies. Just like how the art shows a beast emerging
from the screen of smartphone clinging to the person using it, People nowadays are being
drawn closer to mobile phones like they were being pulled down. Instead of spending time
to socialize with the people around them, they want to spend more time with their mobile
phones. It's like they are controlled by it like a robot.
