I. Objectives:

This project aims to:

1. To propose an innovative project that can be developed for the study.
2. To provide knowledge on the importance of water in the rice crop.
3. Create innovative ideas that benefit farmers and make their work easier.

II. Problem Statement

 How can I help the farmers of Barangay Palattao, Naguilian, Isabela to solve the lack
of water in their rice crops?
 How can I encourage the individual farmers of this barangay, especially those who
rent waterpumps for their crops?
 How can I create an easy-to-use tool for the farmers of this barangay who rent a water
pump to give enough water to their rice crops?

The three queries cover the overall purpose of this tool development project to help
farmers in Barangay Palattao Naguilian,Isabela solve their problem of water shortage
in rice crops. Water is one of the necessities of the rice crop because it controls and
reduces weeds. We know that most farmers in this barangay prefer to rent
waterpumps because they can't afford it, so I made an easy-to-use tool to help give
their crops enough water that they don't need to expensively rent waterpumps,
reducing farmers' expenses..

III. Guide questions

Who needs help?

The Farmers of Barangay Palattao Naguilian, Isabela As a resident, community member,

student, and inventor, I am worried about farmers renting a waterpump for their paddy crops
to provide enough water, but in the extreme heat of the weather, the soils also dry out easily
and the crops lose water. In this situation, they have to rent a water pump to water their crops
again, but renting a water pump is also expensive, so it adds to their expenses.

What is currently being done to address the problem?

As a student and innovator, I made a DC motor visible plastic waterpump that will help
irrigate the rice crops of the farmers in this barangay and reduce the cost of the farmers
renting the expensive waterpumps.
What factors contribute to the problem?

•Location

The farmers' rice crops are far from irrigation water and they still need a water pump to give
enough water to their crops.

•Social status

Based on my observation, most of the farmers in this barangay do not have enough budget for
expenses for their crops. An example here is that they prefer to rent waterpumps rather than
buy them.

•lack of irrigation canals in each crop.

We know the importance of irrigation canals for rice crops in terms of providing access to
water for rice crops and farmers who require water for their crops. It also helps to prevent
flooding of rice crops if there is heavy rain.
