INTRODUCTION

On November 10, 2022, Tapiwa and I went for a field trip to Buffalo breweries
located in Mt Hampden with an aim to visit the procurement, quality as well as the
production departments and we arrived there at 12:00am. We planned to visit the
brewery to find out about who they are as well as what their core business is.

OBJECTIVES
The objectives of the trip were to get to know the brewery in more details in terms
of its operations, to get exposure on the product lines and to know who their
chemical supplier was.

FIELD OBSERVATIONS
We met Mr. Nyahodya, the procurement manager, who explained in detail the kind
of beer they produce, their current chemical supplier as well as their product lines.
He also made inquiries that we send him quotations on the following products;
1. Nitric acid 60% - 510 kg
2. Liquid caustic – 200kg
3. Power liquid – 75L
However, we could not meet the quality assurance manager as well as the
production manager who had gone out for their company’s projects therefore we
failed to get as much information as we intended to. Due to these constraint we
appealed for Mr. Nyahodya’s contacts to arrange for a Monday trip.
