HD 46 REFORMULATION

OBJECTIVES
1. To formulate HD46 Hand Soap as a measure to eradicate importation of Magico Hand
Soap in a cost effective way without compromising quality.
2. To include Medical Hand Soap in the formulation of HD46 Hand Soap as a value adding
strategy.

INTRODUCTION
HD46 HAND SOAP is a viscous pink liquid used for washing hands and body leaving them
soft and clean. It is an effective disinfectant based on glutaraldehyde which resist the
development of resistance strains of bacteria.
MEDICAL HAND SOAP is a liquid hand cleanser with anti-bacterial properties. It contains
disinfecting compounds, humectants and emollients.

The following materials were used in the formulation of HD46 HANDSOAP respectively.

CONCLUSION AND RECOMMENDATION

Trial E showed consistent colour and viscosity with Magico Hand Soap. Therefore it was agreed
by all parties to use the formulation for Trial E in production of HD46 Hand Soap.

CONCLUSION
After the cost benefit analysis all parties agreed to manufacture HD46 Hand Soap instead of
importing since it is cost effective, time efficient and unwavering quality.
