AAs received the “BEST NGO” award in the years 2013 and 2017 by the district administration
for rescuing various children from vulnerable spaces.

AAs is registered as a legal body under Madhya Pradesh Societies Registration Act

On the first day, I reported at 10 in the morning at the head office of AAs which is situated in
Nipaniya, Indore. After that, we met Yasmin mam, before joining she was the one with whom I
coordinated for all queries. Yasmin mam briefed us about the organization. She told me about
the work which I had to do in the whole month.

After that I met Shubham Sir, he explained in detail the various projects under which AAs is
working. He went in more detail about CRY (Child Rights and You) project as I had to work
under this project for my internship. He told me about the guidelines which I had to keep in my
mind during my internship.

After this Shubham Sir introduced us to the staff at Nipaniya Head office

After lunch, Apoorva Sir took me and other fellow interns for a visit to the different centers that
are operated by AAs. First we went to Digital Learning Centre in Khajrana, then Resource
Center at Jalla colony, Resource Center at Bajrang Nagar. We just visited there to know where
they are situated so that we can go there in coming days.
DAY 2 – 2 FEBRUARY 2023- THURSDAY

On the second day I reported at DLC (DIGITAL LEARNING CENTER) at 11 in the morning.
DLC provides free computer training to children and women and after completion of their
training they give an IT Certification course by NIIT. There I was introduced to Kirti Mam who
is the in charge of DLC and gives computer training to students there. But the students come
there in the afternoon after their school.

By that time I was asked to visit students’ house those who have started coming here and have a
talk with them and then write their success stories. Kirti mam told me that this exercise has to be
regularly done. Then with one of the teacher at DLC I went to Mulchand pal’s house. And then
had a talk with him and his family, got to know that he is a migrant and as he couldn’t afford
education for his children, his children started coming for the free education provided by AAs.
After talking with him I got to know many aspects of a migrant life and the difficulties they face.

After this we went to the other house. There I got to know about Zoya’s story. How she was not
allowed to continue her education but she fought and completed her 12 th and now she regularly
comes to DLC as she wants to do Bcom in taxation ahead. After interacting with both of them I
was asked to write success stories of both and submit it by the end of day.

Then I met the students who have recently joined DLC and have just started learning computer.

As we were three interns, Kirti mam allotted each of us 5 students and asked us to have a talk
with them and know about their backgrounds and to address any issue they are facing in the
course of their computer training. I met Khushi, Mahek and Afreen. Had a conversation with
them and solved their issues. Taught them how to use MS word as one of the girl just started
using word she was unaware of the different font size and types available on word. After that
helped one student to learn how to type in Hindi on MS word

From 4 in the evening to 6, free coaching is provided at DLC to students who can’t afford any
coaching or tuition facilities. So at 4 taught social studies to 2 girls of 8 th standard. Though they
are currently in 8th standard but after talking with them I got to know that they lacked basic
understanding of common terms like democracy, discrimination, religion. Tried to first clear
their basic concepts and then explained them 2 chapters of social studies.

DAY 3 – 3 FEBRUARY 2023, Friday

FIELD VISIT 1
On 3rd February I had my first field visit. First I reported at DLC. From there we were asked to
go to Baba ki Bag area with Nasim Mam, she is the head of Baba ki Bag resource center. We
reached there at 12 in noon.

Baba ki Bag is a slum area near Khajrana Colony, Indore. AAs have one of the resource centers
at Baba ki Bag. The main crowd which regularly comes to this center is the children who have
dropped out of school due to various reasons and come there for getting free education.

Despite being a weekday, most of the children were at the center as they don’t go to school
regularly.

We were asked to take a session with these kids. First we started with asking their names and we
realized that most of the kids there were not even able to introduce themselves. So then we
started with teaching them to give their introduction in Hindi as well as in English. We were
surprised to know that even students of 9 th and 10th standard were unable to introduce
themselves.

After a while, not all but many of them learned and we were happy to see that. After this we tried
to know the reasons why they were not going to school and basically we got two-four reasons.
First reason which was given by most of the girls was that their parents don’t want to spend
money on education. The other reason which we got was that they were migrants and have just
shifted here and that’s why they are not going to school as they don’t have the adequate
documents. We recorded all this and formed documents which we were asked to submit. As AAs
also helps in making the government documents such as ration card and also help migrants’
children to continue their education by helping them with their documents.

After this, we conducted a quiz for those children. The quiz had three sections – about country
(INDIA), about state (Madhya Pradesh) and at last about city (Indore). We were expecting that
they would be able to answer half of them but to our surprise the kids answered almost all the
questions.

After the quiz, we also took a session and explained them the concepts of state, Union territories
and also the concept of President and Prime Minister. The reason we took this session was
though they knew how many states and union territories are there in India but they didn’t know
the concept behind that.

DAY 4 – 4 FEBRUARY 2023, Saturday

Today I reported at DLC at 11 in the morning. After that I was asked to visit Nisha Rajak’s
house. She is regular student at DLC from past one month.

I was asked to visit her house and write her success story. She lives near to the DLC. After going
to her home, I met Nisha, her parents and her younger brother.

After talking with them I got to know about their story. They are the migrants and were not able
to afford her education due to the expenses they were occurring in the city. And that’s where
volunteers from AAs found her and told them about the free education services provided and
after that Nisha is getting her education regularly and is also excelling.

After that I had a talk with Nisha and her younger brother and I was very happy to know that
they were very happy as they were able to study regularly and in addition to that they also made
new friends and have also started taking part in various activities and sports.

I spent 1-2 hours at Nisha’s home and it was a great feeling to interact with all of them and after
that I wrote Nisha’s success story and then submitted it to Yasmin Mam.

The second task which I was given was to visit Shaheed’s house. Before going there, Kirti mam
gave me some background details that Shaheed was a target of child labor and now is continuing
his education with the help of AAs.

I went to Shaheed’s house and had a talk with him and his parents. I first talked with his parents
and got to know their views about education. I was surprised that how their thinking got
drastically changed after their son actually started getting access to education. They told me that
the main reason they didn’t allow their son to study was their poor financial condition but after
getting to know about the free education services provided by AAs, they allowed their son. They
also told me, AAs also helped them to be a beneficiary under the schemes run by government for
poor people so it solved all their problems and they were finally happy that their son was getting
the education he deserved.

Then I went back to DLC, wrote success story of Shaheed and then submitted it to Yasmin Mam.
DAY 5 – 6 February 2023 – Monday

On Monday I first visited the head office of AAs which is at Nipaniya. There Shubham sir asked
me to give updates about the last 4 days. He checked on all the work I did. He also gave me
some new format for writing success stories and checked all the success stories which I wrote in
the last 4 days and suggested me some changes on that.

After that he gave me some clerical work to do. I was asked to make excel sheet where there was
name of people who were not able to avail benefits of different government schemes and were
facing issues in their daily lives and with the help of AAs, they are now beneficiaries under those
schemes. He also told me to read about those schemes as it would help me in the surveys which I
will be doing in the upcoming days.

So I read about different kind of Ration Card schemes, MGNREGA and PDS and Anganwadi. I
did all this work till afternoon and then I was asked to visit DLC.

Shubham Sir asked me to make a video of DLC and edit that. So my next 1-2 hours were spent
in making video and recording short clips of students who are regularly coming there for
computer training.

From 3-5 we took session of students who come there for free coaching. The session was on
English Grammar. I taught them about tense and cleared their basics.
DAY 6 – 7 February 2023- Tuesday

I was asked to report at DLC in the morning at 11. After that I was given clerical work with my
fellow interns.

The clerical work included making excel sheet for students who are getting benefitted by the
AAs foundation under their CRY project.

After doing this work for 2-3 hours, we all three were given different works to do.

I was asked to visit Armaan Khan’s house. He lives in Jhumru Colony which is near to the
Khajrana colony.

I went to Armaan’s house and had a talk with him and his parents. And got to know that his story
was no different, even he was not able to continue his education because his parents were not
financially strong. They didn’t have any problem with his education but they were not able to
afford that education and that’s where AAs came in and helped Armaan.

I spent 2-3 hours with Armaan’s family and that was the highlight of my day.

After Armaan’s house I was asked to visit Mohin Rokh’s house and talk to his family. After
talking with Mohin I got to know that he wants to go to school but his father is not allowing him
and asking him to join the work as they want an additional income in their family.

I tried convincing Mohin’s father and also told him that Mohin can join resource center to at
least start his education. He was very adamant at first. I also told them about the legal provisions
regarding child labor. This thing terrified him a bit and I think he was a bit convinced. I told
about this to Kirti Mam and she said that their team will visit Mohin’s home and try to convince
his family.
DAY 7 – 8 February 2023- Wednesday

I reported at DLC in the morning at 11. After that we were asked by Kirti Mam to conduct a quiz
for the students of DLC.

I along with my fellow interns modified some questions of the Quiz that we conducted at Baba ki
Bag area and made it a bit tough.

After that we were given clerical work to make record of all students who are registered at DLC
and will be taking up the exam by NIIT at the end of February.

I completed this work till afternoon. After that in the noon we were asked to take the quiz.

At DLC, three batches come from 1:30 – 5. And we conducted quiz for all of them. All the
students from all the batches were asked to come at 1:30. We also kept prizes for winners.

After the quiz, Vijay sir asked us to also explain all the concepts relating to the questions to all
the children who were present there.

After the quiz, we also took feedback from the students and they all enjoyed it and also
demanded another quiz in the upcoming days.
DAY 8 – 9 FEBRUARY 2023 – THURSDAY

Today I reported at DLC at 11 in the morning. Kirti Mam asked me to visit Baba ki Bag
Resource center along with Nasim Mam.

At Baba ki Bag some of the children who are currently in 10th and 12th standard but have filled
private form for boards were waiting for me. As they don’t go to school regularly, they were not
very well versed with their syllabus. After talking with them I got to know that they didn’t even
know the basic formulas or basic concepts of any subjects.

I had time till 3 in the afternoon to teach them. They were 3 girls – Zoya, Mehak and Rahemeen
and 2 boys – Anas and Sibtain who were in 10th standard. I was asked by Nasim Mam to teach
students of 10th standard whereas the other intern was asked to teach students of 12th standard.

For them I started with chemistry and physics and first told them about the basic concepts of
both the subjects. As they study in Hindi-medium school, it was tough for me but using Google
translator I was able to explain them all the concepts.

After that I went with teaching them the format of letter and application for their English exam.

We continued till 3 and after that Nasim Mam asked me to visit two houses for success stories.

I visited Krishna Rathore’s house and Saloni Rathore’s house.

When I visited Krishna’s home, I got to know by him parents that even though they wanted their
son to get proper education, but due to his bad company he was not at all focusing on his studies
and spending all day with his friends in playing. But after volunteers from AAs found him and he
started coming to the center regularly, he has improved a lot and also has changed his company.

After spending an hour with Krishna and his family, I went to Saloni’s house to know about her
story.

Saloni was not able to get education because her parents feared sending her far anywhere as they
were migrants and shifted to Indore few days back! But after talking with them, I got to know
that now one of the members from AAs takes Saloni with her every day to the center and she has
now started her education.

After talking with Saloni and her family I realized that most of the times, these little things
become big hindrances for someone. I wrote both the success stories for the day and submitted itt
to Yasmin mam.
DAY 9 – 10 February 2023 – FRIDAY

I reported at DLC at 11 in the morning. The first task of the day was to make a registration form
for NIIT exam. Kirti Mam gave me the specifications for the form.

After that I was given two registers and to make excel sheet for them.

I completed this clerical work till afternoon. After that Kirti Mam asked me to help two students
– Misbah and Saniya to teach them how to use Microsoft PowerPoint. As they both were asked
to make a Presentation for the organization.

I helped with them the basics of Microsoft PowerPoint and after that also helped them with
making of the presentation. We completed our presentation till 5.
DAY 10 – 11 February 2023- SATURDAY

Today I was asked to report at the head office Nipaniya. From there with Deepak sir, we
headed to Ratedi, Dewas. One of the resource center of AAs is located at Ratedi, Dewas and the
children of Dewas and Ratedi who can’t afford education come at the center to get the free
education provided by AAs.

After reaching Ratedi, Madhu Mam who is the head of that resource center asked me to visit
Vanshika Chauhan’s house to document her story

Then, I went to Vanshika’s house, as the area was unfamiliar for me, Deepak sir came along with
me. Deepak Sir told me that they found Vanshika in one of the surveys conducted by AAs and
also showed me one video clip of Vanshika when she just started coming to the center and told
me to notice the change when I meet her now. After reaching Vanshika’s house we had a talk
with her and her parents. The Vanshika which I met was completely different from the one I saw
in the video. Vanshika told me that before joining the center she was not getting any education
because Vanshika and her family migrated to Dewas from a village and her parents were not able
to afford her education. And she herself told me that before joining the center she was not able to
even talk with anyone and she didn’t even had any friends but after joining the center things have
changed. She has made many new friends and her confidence level has also increased and she
has also started taking part in various activities to build her skills. Even her parents were very
happy seeing their daughter getting educated.

Vanshika also told me about some of her friends who are not able to get the education as their
parents are not allowing it. So after that we went to their house and also tried explaining to their
parents the importance of education and also informed them about the free coaching provided by
AAs at their resource center.

After that Madhu Mam also assured us that after some days they will take a follow up and will
see if their parents are convinced or not.

Then we returned to the head office and I submitted the story of Vanshika Chauhan to Yasmin
Mam.
DAY 11 – 13 February 2023- Monday

Today also I was asked to report at DLC first at 11 in the morning. After that Kamla Mam took
me and one of my fellow interns to Mominpura resource center with her.

A distribution drive was organized at Mominpura and we were also asked to participate in that.

After reaching Mominpura resource center we first arranges all the items that were to be
distributed after that we collected all the students who come to the center regularly and
distributed them all the items. All the kids were extremely happy after receiving all the goods.

After lunch Kamla Mam took us for conducting survey in the area of Mominpura.

AAs right now is conducting baseline surveys in all the areas where they have their resource
center situated. Though the organization has all the data in the records, but to increase the
efficiency they are getting their all the data digitized and have also increased some fields for data
entry.

The survey which we conducted was through tabs and as we were three people – I, my fellow
intern and Kamla Mam we all had our tabs and we were allotted 10 houses each.

We started from 3 in the afternoon and completed our target till 5:30 and after that also
submitted the report to Yasmin Mam.
DAY 12 – 14 February 2023 – TUESDAY

I reported at DLC at 11 in the morning. Today we were asked to work on a new project. Recently
AAs has collaborated with Ministry of women and child to work on a project ‘GRAM VAANI’.
The project which AAs is working upon is ‘BAAL VAANI’.

The main purpose of Baal Vaani is to educate children on various issues. They have a toll free
number through which children can call to listen to the recordings available as well as they can
record their experiences or recordings on any issues through that number.

The number for BAAL VAANI is 728985422. The user is required to get a call and after that a
return call is received from another number.

In the morning Kirti Mam told me to document all the data of all the calls that have been made to
the BAAL VAANI number. There were 3 registers which contained the data and I was asked to
digitize that data and make excel sheets for it.

In the afternoon when students reached at DLC, Kirti Mam told me to record experiences of 5
students who have used BAAL VAANI and make a report for them.

I recorded experiences of – Mahak, Anam, Afreen, Rehan and Raj. In addition to that Kirti Mam
also advised me to teach these 5 kids how to speak confidently through these recordings as they
were getting nervous. We recorded one recording after 4-5 takes as the children were facing
difficulties in articulating themselves.

But after various takes, we completed recordings of all five and uploaded on the BAAL VAANI
number. And also submitted the report to Yasmin mam and Kirti Mam
DAY 13 – 15 February 2023 – WEDNESDAY

FIELD VISIT 2- JHALARIYA

Today we had our second field visit at Jhalariya. Jhalariya is a slum area at MR10 in Indore. AAs
under its project ‘AAs on wheels’ is covering areas where the children from very poor economic
background, they don’t even have a permanent house to live in.

The living conditions in which they live are also very bad. AAs is trying to help them educate
through their project. I went there along with my fellow interns, Neha mam and Apoorv sir by
the van which AAs runs for their project. The main aim of using that van is all the children
gather there immediately as soon as they see the van.

Neha mam told us to make them aware about hygiene and habits as those kids live in slum are
and don’t follow any good habits. The surroundings in which they live are also very filthy.

In addition to telling them about hygiene, we also told them about ‘SWACHH BHARAT
ABHIYAAN’ and the reason why this is very important. The kids didn’t even know that Indore
was the cleanest city for 7th time in a row.

After all this, we employed them in a cleanliness drive of their area. With them we cleaned their
surroundings after that we distributed them clothes and socks which were donated by one
businessman to AAs.

After the cleanliness and distribution drive we returned to Nipaniya Head office and then I
submitted the report of the day to Yasmin mam.
DAY 14 – 16 FEBRUARY 2023 – THURSDAY

Today we were asked to plan a session by collaborating with other interns who came from
NMIMS Mumbai. So in the morning few hours were spent in planning that session. We came up
with two things that would be covered in the exercise.

First we drafted a brain storming exercise for them in which we prepared a small questionnaire
for them which included some basic questions like -

1. What they want to become in future?

2. What will you require for reaching that future goal?
3. What are you required to do for reaching that goal?
4. What do you think how much time is required to complete that goal?
5. Why do you want to reach to that goal? OR why do you want to become that?

From 1 p.m. onwards as soon as children started coming. We gave them that questionnaire and
asked them to fill that in next 5 minutes. After that we checked their responses and divided
ourselves based on the knowledge we had about different fields. After that we advised them
about how to go ahead in different fields, what subjects to take after 10th and gave them insight
about the various choices they have after 12th standard. After this counseling session the interns
from NMIMS briefed them about course on BBA and MBA and then I along with my fellow
interns briefed them about law.

After that we decided to show them some clips from Shark Tank India. Before playing the clip
we told them about the show, what happens on the show? The interns from NMIMS told them
about the concept of business and we got them familiarized with the concept of business first.
We played that episode where a boy named Dhawal who belonged from a poor economic
background but then too invented a device which washed tea cups. The main purpose of us
showing this clip was to teach them that it doesn’t matter in the first place that you are rich or
poor to do something big. If you have the will power and motive no constraints can stop you
from achieving your goal.
DAY 15- 17 FEBRUARY 2023- FRIDAY

Today I reported at DLC at 11 in the morning. The interns from NMIMS were also there and
Kirti Mam told all of us to plan session for Life skills building.

We spent some time in planning some activities which are fun and at the same time add up to
their skills set.

After all the planning, we had some time left for students to come. So, we started preparing
questions for more quizzes which we were supposed to conduct in the upcoming days.

In the afternoon we conducted one activity – we told everyone to divide themselves into groups
and decide captain for every team. After that we distributed one newspaper to each group and
told them to make as many items possible from that one newspaper without using scissors and to
not waste newspaper to the maximum extent possible. We gave 7 minutes to each group. After
that when we saw results – team C made highest number of craft items – 29.

The main purpose for conducting this activity was to make them realize that – in life you have
limited means and resources and you should know well how to use them judiciously.

We gave them the analogy with money that in real life when you get limited amount of money –
you just can’t buy one expensive product and spend all your money on it. You need to analyze
your needs and then use the money and resources judiciously. The main lesson which we wanted
to impart was that – ‘less is more’.

The session continued till 4 in the afternoon and after that Kirti Mam asked us to make a report
of the session and submit it to Yasmin Mam.
DAY 16 -18 FEBRUARY 2023 – SATURDAY

Today I reported at DLC at 11 in the morning. As it was a Saturday and on some Saturdays the
kids at DLC have sports day where they play different games and most of the students have an
off on Saturdays from their school.

Kirti Mam told us to plan some games which would also add something to their learning. I along
with my fellow interns first decided that we will start with normal sports so that everyone can
join. We divided ourselves into teams and first played a volleyball match with all the students.

After that we played a game called Zoo with all the students – basically in that game you get a
letter and you have to speak – a city’s, country’s name or state’s name starting with that letter
and if you don’t know any you have to run without getting caught.

The purpose of this game apart from the sports factor was to check their general knowledge.
After that we also told them to take a sheet and write all the names they can recall from the
game, we did this to check their memory and also to let them know of any new names which
they didn’t know earlier.

After playing these games outdoor, we decided to play some games indoor. We again divided
ourselves and one group was playing chess, I was with one group I played carom with them and
we continued this games session till 4 in the evening.

Then Yasmin mam visited DLC and she asked me to make a report for the day and submit to her.
I completed the report included all the events and submitted to Yasmin mam.
DAY 17 – 20 FEBRUARY 2023 – MONDAY

Today I reported at DLC in the morning. As the part of the CRY DI (‘child rights and you –
direct intervention) it was mandated to conduct a session for gender sensitization for students
who visit at various resource centers opened by AAs. Kirti mam told us that at all other centers
the session was already conducted at all the centers except at DLC and she told us that I along
with my fellow interns have to take that session in the afternoon. Kirti mam told me to include
the difference between sex and gender as those kids were totally unaware of these differences.

Then we first made a power point presentation and a questionnaire for session to start the session
with. We included some questions such as – do you know the difference between sex and
gender? What are the roles of husband and wife? Have you ever faced discrimination or
witnessed discrimination with someone else?

After forming the questionnaire and preparing the presentation we had our printouts ready to
distribute them.

In the afternoon we conducted that session with the kids. After seeing the answers on the
questionnaire, some of the answers were very shocking. It was very important to make them
aware that the thinking they had was very wrong and they need to change that.

We also told them to share any experiences if they are comfortable. We also told them to go
home and review their answers after listening to what we told them.

We also clarified them the difference between sex and gender. We were very happy to see that
there were many children who were curious to know more about third gender and such issues but
they didn’t get any adequate platform to clarify their doubts.

We completed the session and after that I made a report of the session and submitted it to
Shubham sir and Yasmin mam.
DAY 18 – 21 FEBRUARY 2023 – TUESDAY

FIELD VISIT – 3 – DHABLI

Today we were asked to go for a rural field visit. This was the 3 rd field visit as the part of our
internship. All three of us were asked to report at the head office that is at Nipaniya, Indore.
After going there, we along with Neha Mam and Apoorva Sir went to Dhabli. It is a small village
in Madhya Pradesh near Indore.

One of the projects by AAs is AAs on wheels. Through this project, the teachers at AAs go to the
rural and slum areas and take regular session with kids there as those kids can’t afford to go
school or even any coaching center, they try to impart at least basic knowledge to them through
this project. We also went to these areas under this project only.

As Dhabli is a small rural region, most of the parents there are either involved in small scale
farming or begging and most of the time they involve their children too. After going there we
were asked to first have a talk with parents and try to make them aware about the importance of
education. After that we interacted with the kids who came there by just seeing our van.

Some of the kids there were enrolled in school but were not going regularly and some of them
were not even enrolled, the only education they were getting was from this school on wheels
project.

Keeping everyone’s level in mind, we first started with asking them to introduce themselves; we
taught them in Hindi as well as in English to give their own introduction. After that we played
memory game with them. Then we also taught them numbers and also played a game relating to
numbers with them.

One of the aspects of the project was distribution drive. Through this we were asked to distribute
clothes and books to the children out there. One of the main task while distributing this was to
control these kids as Neha mam told us that whenever these kids get any clothes or material they
start fighting and disturb the ambience altogether.
We were asked to discipline them first and then distribute all the supplies to the children.

DAY 19 – 22 FEBRUARY 2023 – WEDNESDAY

Today I reported at DLC at 11 in the morning. Today we planned another quiz for students at
DLC. The topics which we decided to cover in this quiz were geography and Planets. We spent
1-2 hours in the morning in making questions for the quiz.

I along with my fellow interns made 3 sections for the quiz –

1. Planets
2. Human body
3. General science

We started the quiz at 1:30 and conducted separately for three batches. It continued till 4 in the
evening. After that Kirti Mam instructed us to also explain all the topics which were covered in
the quiz and called students from every batch to attend that session.

We started with solar system and then covered some more topics after that at last we took a
session on Maps by using the panel which is installed at DLC.

We made some sheets which included some basic information on all the topics and distributed
that to everyone. This all continued till 5 in the evening.

In the evening Yasmin Mam came and told us to make a report including all the work which we
did today.
DAY 20 – 23 FEBRUARY 2023 – THURSDAY

I reported at DLC at 11 in the morning. Today Yasmin mam asked me to conduct survey. The
same baseline survey which was conducted in Baba ki Bag area was to be conducted in Mansab
Nagar.

Kirti mam gave me the tab and told me to cover 10-15 houses in the whole day.

And this time, I was asked to go alone for the survey without any assistance. I started my survey
at 12 took lunch break at 2 and then continued the survey again from 3-5.

I covered 16 houses and completed the survey. Many of the households were not ready to give
any data but after convincing them that it is for their own benefit, some of them agreed while
some still didn’t agreed to share any information.

After completing all the surveys I submitted the report of the day and the tab back to Kirti mam.

2. Child Marriage
3. Menstrual Cycle

5. Menstrual Hygiene

First I wrote the content for all 5 topics and then got it approved by Yasmin mam after that I
recorded and uploaded the recordings on the ‘BAAL VAANI’ portal.
DAY 22 – 25 FEBRUARY 2023 – SATURDAY

FIELD VISIT 4 – MAYAKHEDI

Today we had our 4th field visit. The place of the visit was Mayakhedi. It is situated on the
outskirts of the city Indore. We went there as a part of the school on wheels project. It was also a
part of the CRY DI project that is ‘Child Rights and You’ Direct Intervention.

Mayakhedi area is slum area and most of the children there lives in half built houses and are
financially not that strong.

Their parents can’t afford education for them and most of the times take their children with them
for their work.

AAs through their project ‘school on wheels’ has successfully managed to convince most of
them to not take them for work and let them study. Even they don’t allow them to go to school;
they have convinced to at least start their education through the project.

We were first asked to take a session on hygiene with the kids those who all were present there.
We told them the importance of staying hygienic and also made them aware of the various
diseases because of not being hygienic.

We talked with them and also asked them the reason for not going to school and most of the
answers were that their parents don’t consider education that important and don’t want to spend
their money on education and because of this most of the children had the same thinking and
were not even interested to study anything in their future. They were just sitting there because of
the supplies that are distributed.

So we then told them the importance of education and also tried to persuade them to at least start
their education and not fall in the trap of starting work at this young age.
DAY 23 – 27 FEBRUARY 2023 – MONDAY

I reported at Nipaniya head office at 11 in the morning. After that Yasmin mam asked me to
assist Neha mam and Apoorva sir to visit Jhalariya.

Today at Jhalariya, there was a plan to paint two walls of the resource center at Jhalariya on two
important topics – population control and ‘swachata abhiyaan’. So I was asked to help on this
project.

After completing that till afternoon, Yasmin mam asked me to reach DLC. After reaching DLC,
Kirti mam gave me the insights for the month of January and then I was asked to make a report
for the month of January using a specific format and then submit it to Shubham sir.
DAY 24 – 28 FEBRUARY 2023 – TUESDAY
FIELD VISIT 5 – MOMINPURA

Today we had our last field visit. And for today we were asked to visit Mominpura. Mominpura
is an area in Indore near Khajrana.

The work which I was asked was to conduct surveys in that area. With this I was also asked to
visit resource center which is situated at Mominpura and I was instructed by Kamla mam to
prepare posters along with the children who come to the resource center regularly.

The topics for posters were – child rights, child marriage, population control and many such
topics.

The aim of making these posters was to spread awareness in that area related to these issues by
sticking them on the streets of Mominpura. AAs received this work from one of the government
official.

So after spending 2-3 hours in making of posters, I went outside to stick them with all the kids
and Kamla Mam and we faced resistance from some of the locals as they told us that there is no
need for all this, it won’t matter to people and it would also not change their thinking, but then
we all tried to convince them that these small efforts will lead to big changes in the future.

After completing this activity we returned to the center and the students who come there for free
coaching started coming. Then Kamla Mam asked us to conduct the same general knowledge
quiz which we conducted at Baba ki Bag Resource center and at DLC. She told us to make the
level of quiz a bit low as most of the students there were of young age and many of them are not
even regular with their school. The only regular education they were getting was from this
resource center.

As compared to other centers, the competition level here was low and the students were not able
to answer most of the questions of quiz. So then we tried to explain them the answer of each
question and also distributed them sheets which contained explanation of all the topics which
were covered in the quiz.
DAY 25 – 1 March 2023 – WEDNESDAY

Today was the last day of my internship. In the course of last 24 days I visited various resource
center opened by AAs under ‘CRY’ project.

So today I first reported at the head office which is at Nipaniya. And the other interns who were
from NMIMS also completed their internship. So we all were first asked to write a review note
on how was our experience while working with AAs.

After that, Yasmin mam gave us the option of visiting all the resource centers or going back to
DLC. So we decided to visit the centers as it was our last day!

At last we visited DLC and we conducted a games session for them.

We started with Carom and then played chess. After these board games we played more such
games with them.

As a part of the life skills session we played memory game and Chinese whisper with them. With
them we all also enjoyed.
