Ukraine is a country of amazing places, picturesque landscapes, magnificent architecture and ancient, historical
monuments. Every Ukrainian city is beautiful and unique in its own way.

But nevertheless, I want to highlight 4 of the major cities.

Kharkiv, the second most populous city in Ukraine, is a powerful industrial, educational, scientific and cultural
center of the country. The main branches are machine building and machine tools, food and tobacco industry, as
well as book printing. From 1919 to 1934 Kharkiv was the capital of Ukraine.
One of the oldest cities in the world, Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine, lies astride the two banks of the mighty Dnipro
River. Today, Kyiv is on the rise once more as the cultural, administrative and financial heart of Ukraine, in addition
to being one of the most beautiful capital in Eastern Europe. It’s truly worth seeing with your own eyes the
harmonious combination of antiquity and modernity, of classic artisanry with cutting-edge technology, of thousand
year-old churches and monasteries whose gleaming domes reflect the most contemporary architectural complexes.

Odesa is a large port and sea passenger station, base of fishing fleet, oil refinery and shipbuilding. Odesa is also a
seaside resort, beaches of Langeron, paving stone of quiet streets covered with plane trees and chestnut trees, the
legendary Deribasovskaya Street, the famous Opera House.

Dnipropetrovsk is spread across both banks of the great Dnieper River, and is one the most colorful and interesting
cities of eastern Ukraine. Modern Dnipropetrovsk easily weaves together the rhythm of a fast-paced business center
with the peaceful atmosphere of countless parks, in which local residents like to spend their time. But the most
popular place to walk and rest is the beautiful Lenin Boardwalk, which happens to be the longest in Europe. The
architectural pride of Dnipropetrovsk is rightly considered to be the Transfiguration Cathedral, the same one that has
been there since the beginning of the city’s history.

These were the four cities that seem to me to be the most major in the Ukraine.

8. There are hundreds of towns and cities in America. But the most major ones, in my opinion, are Washington DC,
New York City, Chicago, and Los Angeles.

Washington, D.C., city and district, capital of the United States of America. The city is located on the Potomac
River. The District of Columbia was named for Christopher Columbus. Washington, D.C., has a total area of 176 sq
km and the Washington metropolitan region - which in addition to Washington, D.C., contains 24 counties in the
surrounding states has a total area of 17 920 sq km. Washington is home to many famous and interesting public
buildings and monuments.

New York, N.Y., attracts people from all over the world. It is the most exciting and the most changeable city in the
world. There are 5 boroughs in New York - Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, The Bronx and Staten Island. Manhattan
is an island 13 miles long and 2 miles wide. It is the center of American finance, advertising, art theatre, publishing,
fashion - and much more.

Chicago, 111., is the third largest city in the United States and one of the country’s leading industrial, commercial,
transportation, and financial centers. Chicago covers a land area of 588.2 sq km and stretches 47 km along Lake
Michigan. It is the center of a large metropolitan area. Almost every ethnic group found in the United States is
represented in Chicago. The city is a significant port for both domestic and international trade.Chicago is one of the
nation’s leading producers of steel, medical appliances, railroad equipment, soap, paint, cosmetics, industrial
machinery and sporting goods.

And finally, the last one is Los Angeles. It is the second most populous city in the United States after New York
City. It is one of the nation’s major industrial, commercial, and financial centers. Los Angeles is also famous for its
balmy climate, lush scenery, television industries, freeways, and occasional earthquakes. The city of Los Angeles
covers a land area of 1 214.2 sq km. Beverly Hills is a separate city famous for its movie-star residents and the
Rodeo Drive shopping district. Against the Santa Monica Mountains, is West Hollywood and Sunset Strip, an area
known for dance clubs and designer clothes shops. Griffith Park is the city’s major outdoor recreation area.

These were the four cities that seem to me to be the most major in the United States.
